There’s death all around us.
We just don’t pay attention.
Until we do.
The last time Lex was happy, it was before. When she had a family that was whole. A boyfriend she loved. Friends who didn’t look at her like she might break down at any moment.
Now she’s just the girl whose brother killed himself. And it feels like that’s all she’ll ever be.
As Lex starts to put her life back together, she tries to block out what happened the night Tyler died. But there’s a secret she hasn’t told anyone-a text Tyler sent, that could have changed everything.
Lex’s brother is gone. But Lex is about to discover that a ghost doesn’t have to be real to keep you from moving on.
My Review: After Lex’s brother took his life, her life turn upside down. She breaks up with her boyfriends, push her friends away. Her mom send her to speak to a doctor on how she feeling. Lex just keep everything bottle up and on her doctor’s order she begin to write in a journal slowly that night of her brother’s death comes to light. Starting to slowly understand why Lex feels guilty about that night and why she gave no warning and reason for breaking off with boyfriend. You get a feeling of loss and understanding. Just trying to find closure and put life back together after such a tragic death. Can really get suck into the emotions and feelings in this book. Just remember have tissues ready in hand when diving in. Can’t give the ending away, you just have to read what happen to Lex that change her world and secrets she holds. So happy reading, bookworms!

Cody and Meg were inseparable.
Two peas in a pod.
Until . . . they weren’t anymore.
When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.
Book Review: Cody and Meg been friends for years, known each other in like forever. So when Meg goes off to start collage early, Cody was shock months later with an email of her friend saying goodbye to everyone. That’s when it hit Cody that her happy friend has taken her own life. Now trying to move on and make sense on why her friend did that, she took on Meg’s parents offer to get her stuff from her dorm. As digging through Meg stuff she found a lot of things out about her friend that she never even told her Founding out she was involved with a guy name, Ben. Wondering who is this guy Ben is did he break Meg heart, to result in her taking her life? As clues to pile up what happen to her friend, she found out on Meg’s laptop a chat group for on how to take a life. Meg has been chatting with some unknown guy. Is that guy also in involved in her friend death? So many questions keeping piling up as Cody trying to find closure and make sense on why Meg was keeping her out of the loop all these year. To get the answers for yourself, you must pick up the book and read it. Such a powerful, and strong read, so get a tissues ready. Happy Reading!
Book Summary: Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
My review: With any thriller book is starts out slowly. So the main character, Rachael ride the same train everyday at the same time. Turns out she kinda lost her job and pretend to go to work everyday, so her roommate does not throw her out. She is still hung up over her ex husband, Tom even through he has moved on with another wife and kid. The only thing keeping her sane is watching the same couple everyday, while riding the train. One day Rachael was so drunk, she went to see Tom, the next thing she knows that she woke up all bloody in bed and don’t remember what happen. At the same time the couple Rachael has been watching closely from riding the train, the wife, Meghan disappear about the time time Rachael was black out drunk the same night. She tries going to the police saying she saw Meghan with another man the night before while she was on the train. The police don’t believe her story as it turns out she has a history of being a drunk, and her life falling a part. During this time we just keep guessing what happen with Meghan, was it her husband, or something more shocking. Well not going to spoil that for you guys, Must pick up this book and find out yourselves, Happy Reading!
Twenty years ago, all the evil villains were banished from the kingdom of Auradon and made to live in virtual imprisonment on the Isle of the Lost. The island is surrounded by a magical force field that keeps the villains and their descendants safely locked up and away from the mainland. Life on the island is dark and dreary. It is a dirty, decrepit place that’s been left to rot and forgotten by the world.
But hidden in the mysterious Forbidden Fortress is a dragon’s eye: the key to true darkness and the villains’ only hope of escape. Only the cleverest, evilest, nastiest little villain can find it…who will it be?
Maleficent, Mistress of the Dark: As the self-proclaimed ruler of the isle, Maleficent has no tolerance for anything less than pure evil. She has little time for her subjects, who have still not mastered life without magic. Her only concern is getting off the Isle of the Lost.
Mal: At sixteen, Maleficent’s daughter is the most talented student at Dragon Hall, best known for her evil schemes. And when she hears about the dragon’s eye, Mal thinks this could be her chance to prove herself as the cruelest of them all.
Evie: Having been castle-schooled for years, Evil Queen’s daughter, Evie, doesn’t know the ins and outs of Dragon Hall. But she’s a quick study, especially after she falls for one too many of Mal’s little tricks.
Jay: As the son of Jafar, Jay is a boy of many talents: stealing and lying to name a few. Jay and Mal have been frenemies forever and he’s not about to miss out on the hunt for the dragon’s eye.
Carlos: Cruella de Vil’s son may not be bravest, but he’s certainly clever. Carlos’s inventions may be the missing piece in locating the dragon’s eye and ending the banishment for good.
Mal soon learns from her mother that the dragon’s eye is cursed and whoever retrieves it will be knocked into a deep sleep for a thousand years. But Mal has a plan to capture it. She’ll just need a little help from her “friends.” In their quest for the dragon’s eye, these kids begin to realize that just because you come from an evil family tree, being good ain’t so bad.
So popular Disney villains been lock up in a mini dome for years thanks to Beauty and the Beast idea. While they trap under the dome that have kids just as evil as them, so you think. Mal rules the school with Jay as her side kick. But when Evie comes in public school for the first time in year after Mal’s mom curse her for not invited her daughter to an party years ago. So you have Mal and Evie butt heads throughout the book. To get her revenge on the Evie, Mal invites Evie to a party to prank her over at Carlos. But things get out of hand when Carlos mess with an invention he made and might have open the dome a bit to let magic in. So Mal’s mother made her set out for a request to get her wand. With the help from Jay who coming along for steal from Mal, Evie so Mal can curse her when they find the wand and Carlos whose only came he is scare of Mal and Evie wanted him to come. So we jump into Rae Carson line instead. Luckily it was short line and got a new arc from her new series. She was wearing such lovely golden nails to match the book that day.
So after signing we ran upstairs to wait out and get a poster sign from Sarah J Maas. Lucky my friend made it to that since she hover and waited around the booths. As for me I was exploring again until my signing with Jodi Picoult. Very quick signing since her line was long but worth it to get off the page book.
After each signing it was time to grab some more free books and swag. Could have stay longer and taken more stuff home but did not have a bigger suite case and had to cut myself off. Mostly left the city before the thunder storm hit us. Lucky no books was harm.
