Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow

girl

Book Review:

Charlotte Davis is in pieces. At seventeen she’s already lost more than most people lose in a lifetime. But she’s learned how to forget. The thick glass of a mason jar cuts deep, and the pain washes away the sorrow until there is nothing but calm. You don’t have to think about your father and the river. Your best friend, who is gone forever. Or your mother, who has nothing left to give you.

Every new scar hardens Charlie’s heart just a little more, yet it still hurts so much. It hurts enough to not care anymore, which is sometimes what has to happen before you can find your way back from the edge.

My Review:

Charlotta also goes by Charlie life is rough. Living in the streets, no parents to love her.  Also she is a cutter, one night she end up cutting so badly she end up with a place for cutters. She became shut and quiet and slowly opening up to her fellow cutters. They each have their own nickname. Charlie like being there having an roof over the head, food so when she force to go back out there to face life again. Can she stay strong and fight for what she wants or will she end up going back to her old ways? This book has so many feeling to put into it. Also after reading this book I end up listening to Demi Lovato  song skyscraper. This song is perfect fit to the theme of this book. Will leave you off to listen to it. Book comes out at end of Aug, I suggest picking up a copy and dive into Charlie world.

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1) by Victoria Schwab

Song

Book Summay:

There’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from author Victoria Schwab, a young woman and a young man must choose whether to become heroes or villains—and friends or enemies—with the future of their home at stake. The first of two books.

Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city—a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent—but he’s one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate, who’s just been kicked out of her sixth boarding school and returned home, August jumps at it. But Kate discovers August’s secret, and after a failed assassination attempt the pair must flee for their lives.

My Review:

The start of the book you meet Kate Harker, a ruthless teen who wants to prove to her father she can take over his life work and prove to him she not some weak child anymore. Then there is August Flynn a monster, human on the outside but killer on inside. He wants nothing more then to fit in with the other humans. He gets task with watching Kate to make sure the peace of the city still there. Things go wrong one day when someone tries to kill Kate and August saves her life. Can Kate trust a monster with her life or is she as ruthless as her father? A war is coming between monsters and humans. Who will get hurt in the cross fire when is all end? Well you have to read and find out for yourself. This book is action pack and full of monster that bump in the night. So get ready and be prepare as Bella tells you a little bedtime story. So Happy Reading!

“I am utterly addicted to Adriana Mather’s electric debut. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, twisting and turning with ghosts, witches, an ancient curse, and—sigh— romance. It’s beautiful. Haunting.” —Jennifer Niven, New York Timesbestselling author of All the Bright Places

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows

LadyJane

Book Summary:

The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help.

At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane gets to be Queen of England.

My Review:

In the world where there are Edians (people who can change into animals at will) and Verities (people who don’t like Edians), they live somewhat co-exist with each other for years as Edward ruling the lands. Sadly Edward find out he dying from the same disease that took his mother. At the age of 16 he hardly filled his boyhood fantasy, getting marry, being kiss, so there no heir to the throne. As Edward trust none of his sisters, Bess and Marry to take over, that leave him his only chose, Lady Jane his cousin he so fond of. His trusted friend and second in command suggest his son, Gifford to marry Jane (who happen to be and horse). Slowly living out his days dying and watching his cousin get marry, he find out there a plot to take over the throne. Will Edward make it time to tell his cousin, Jane the truth? A war is coming and Edian and Verities might have to work together to stop it. Lady Jane will have her hand full after she take over her cousin kingdom. Can she mange to stop a war and fall in love at the same time? Well readers you must find out for yourselves on how this story ends. Filled with action, fantasy and light humor, this book is up your  alley. So I will leave you guys with a Happy Reading!!!
