My Review: 

An blood fever spread throughout the city, the lucky one where alive, marked with powers, they call themselves Malfetto. Those who were unlucky died of the blood fever. Some families love and protect there own but some are not lucky and treated as outcast in their own homes. That is where Adelina begins at home, her whole family strike by the fever but her father. Her and her sister were the lucky ones to live. Adelina had been marked and her eyes missing, while her sister was left alone and not mark. For years she been living under harsh punishments from her father.. Trying hard to get her father love and attention and to grow her powers which never came when growing up. The the night she over heard on being sold she runs off, out of fear of her father finding her, her powers begin to show and she end up killing her father. Now found and on death row for her powers and murder….In the end other young elites, comes to the help her, an man name Reaper leader of other Malfettos, out there calling themselves young elites, hiding and being shelter for years, training to be a part of society again.

With finding help and recovering with the dagger society, she find out how powerful she is and having darkness in her heart, she can either use her power for good or evil? Enzo the leader of the dagger society take her under his wings even if the rest of the group don’t fully trust her. There darkness within her heart and powers, will she be able to control it or let it take over her mind and ruin everything dear to her? She must make an choice when her sister life hangs in the balance, taken by Teren the head guard of inquisition. With an weak king and letting Malfettos running around, Teren wants nothing but to kill them all. It’s an fight on who will make it to the thorne, the head leader Reaper or Teren?

An lady must wear pretty dresses, have tea and go to parties. But for Aubrey she rather hang with her uncle and cutting up dead bodies all day. When her old maid becomes an victim of an killer on the loose. She gets pulled into the world trying to find out who the killer is. With so many suspects to cross off the list, will she able to find before she becomes the next victim herself…..

Aubrey Father: He gone a little crazy over diseases out there in the world after her mother death. Does not know what his daughter do with her uncle on her free time, make her wear masks before heading out. Some of the victims all knew her father also.  Could he be crazy enough to go an killing spree?

Aubrey Uncle: An mad man who has the love cutting people up. With secrets of his own, yet he told even Aubrey herself. Did the rush of opening up the dead get to his head a bit, enough to go and kill?

My Review:

Every year in Fennbirn an set of triplets are born, with powers to destroy each other on their 16th birthday. At the age of six they get whisk away living apart for years, training their until it’s time to meet and then start planing on how they will kill one and other for the crown. Only one can come out on top.

Katharine- A poisoner, can eat, make and breathe in poison everyday. Every year an poisoner always win the crown by poisoning their siblings of course. Katharine very good good a poisons, but also hiding an secret from everyone. She is giftless,  with the help of Natalia and Pietyr they hide her secrets and fakes being an poisoner for years. Can she fake her way when the time comes to see her sisters and show off her gifts? Will she be next in line for the crown?

Mirabella- The gifted one of the sister and elemental. Learning for years to control her powers with other elemental for years. Haunted by nightmares of her sister’s death and little memories from their past that where long forgotten. Can she pull her feelings asides and kill her sister to take the crown?

Arsinoe- A naturalist, who can control plants and make flowers bloom, also have the power with animals and become their friends. She is also giftless, be training for years with other naturalist and she had yet learn to master her gift. No animal to call her own. She start using rune magic to help keep up the show, for how long that will that last? Will be ready to meet her sisters and kill them if she could for the crown?

The book introduce the sisters and switch from point of views on what’s been going with them since they have not seen each other in years, learning to control their gifts and to hate each other. The book show much promise and has an very good ending, leaving you wanting more. I think I like Mirabella a bit,but it could all change within the next book in the series. Alex life is but normal. she is an Bruja, a powerful witch, her whole family are Bruja. She wants nothing to do with being an witch and just want to live her life as normal teen. We find out Alex is afraid of her gifts and hiding them from her family and also friends. But they find out when an accident at school happens. So time to prepare for her death day for blessing of her gift. With the some meddling of spell on her death day she gets her whole family  sucked into an portal by creature call the Devourer. Now she must travel to the world of the dead, call Los Lagos with her guide Nova. Nova has secrets of his own and strange marks all over his body but willing to help Alex with the right price. So enter the world of Los Lago to find the labyrinth to save Alex family. Can to over come her fear of her powers to save them in time? Who is really Nova, can he be trusted guided the young hero to her fate? Well enter the world of monsters and things that bump into the night if you dare. My Review:

The book starts off with Libby, who was on tv once for being to fat and they needed an crane to lift her out one year. So she been home school working on herself and living an more healthy life. Libby build up the confidence to go to public high school first time. Will people finally accept her for who she is or still remember the girl from the tv? Then you met Jack who the popular guy with secrets of his own, he can’t recognize faces. He has good friends an a on and off again girlfriend. He been hiding his condition from his family and friend for years. Then one day when he follows his friend lead on an prank, that’s where he meets Libby.

At first they dislike each other and  then force to spend time together they slowly start feeling something for each other. They both seeing they not so different after all. Between trying to get to known each other you dealing with bullies at the same time. So will these two be able to make it through high school in one piece?? This book has a powerful message against bullying and just being yourself. Not be afraid being yourself and accept help when you need it. Jennifer Niven does it again sending powerful messages with her books. I did review her other book also will post link at bottom of the post. Dealt with bullying at school all my life and cyber bullying for couple of months. Words do hurt, I have an panic disorder and low self esteem but write blogs the best I can. Frankie life turn upside down after suffering from pstd from seeing her boyfriend get killed. Her mom and step father can’t seem to take care of her anymore and ship her off one night to her father’s house. Back home where it all started her nightmares she wants to forgot. Slowly trying to back into a routine but all she can think about is the haunting thoughts of her boyfriend and who killed him. Then she bumps into an bad boy Marco with a rep sheet himself. When they met it’s instant connections between those two. With odd against set against them and everyone want them apart, will they make it in the end? Can Frankie face her fears and find the killer so she was be at peace with herself? Well you just need to read and find for yourself.
