Book Summary:
A 17-year-old pirate captain intentionally allows herself to get captured by enemy pirates in this thrilling YA adventure.
If you want something done right . . .
When the ruthless pirate king learns of a legendary treasure map hidden on an enemy ship, his daughter, Alosa, knows there’s only one pirate for the job—herself. Leaving behind her beloved ship and crew, Alosa deliberately facilitates her own kidnapping to ensure her passage on the ship, confident in her ability to overcome any obstacle. After all, who’s going to suspect a seventeen-year-old girl locked in a cell? Then she meets the (surprisingly perceptive and unfairly attractive) first mate, Riden, who is charged with finding out all her secrets. Now it’s down to a battle of wits and will . . . . Can Alosa find the map and escape before Riden figures out her plan?
Debut author Tricia Levenseller blends action, adventure, romance, and a little bit of magic into a thrilling YA pirate tale.
My Review:
Alosa is the daughter of the pirate king and on a mission to find a map. Her father is ruthless and train her to be the next pirate king. Now off doing his dirty work to please her father she boards the ship of Riden and his brother as a prisoner. Now using the skills the and her brains, she must work hard to find what her father wants. This book is a fun pirate book to read, and has lots of adventures to enjoy. You get to see what first hand the skills of a pirate daughter has. Alosa has many secrets up her sleeves and tricks to get whats she wants. When Riden starts treating with her kindness will she be able to resist his charms? All fair in love and war as they should say? This is quick read and I am all ready for book 2 to come out. If you love, adventures, pirate and a big of magic, then this book will be up your ally. So I dare you to board the pirate ship yourself and see what lies ahead for Alosa. Happy Reading!
