Avenged (Ruined #2) by Amy Tintera

18671324_10209524876025379_2617074760519629887_n

Book Summary:

A war that will fuel her. A bond that will destroy her.

Emelina Flores has come home to Ruina. After rescuing her sister, Olivia, from imprisonment in rival kingdom Lera, Em and Olivia together vow to rebuild Ruina to its former glory.

But just because Em and Olivia are out of Lera doesn’t mean they are safe. Their actions over the past year have had consequences, and they are now targets of retaliation. Olivia will destroy everyone who acts against Ruina. Em isn’t as sure.

Ever since Em posed as Prince Casimir’s betrothed in Lera, she’s started to see another side to this war. Lera may have destroyed the Ruined for decades, but Em knows that Cas is different. And now that he’s taken the throne, Em believes a truce is within reach. But Olivia suspects that Em’s romantic feelings for Cas are just coloring her judgement.

Em is determined to bring peace to her home. But when winning the war could mean betraying her family, she faces an impossible choice between loyalty and love. Em must stay one step ahead of her enemies—and her blood—before she’s the next victim in this battle for sovereignty.

My Review:

Emelina thought once she has her sister Olivia back things can go back to normal. They could rebuild their, make peace with the humans. Well this is no fairy tale where everything is happily ever after. Olivia has plans of her and she wants revenge for what she went through being taken, her family killed and home destroy. Time to choose sides as a war is coming. No one if really safe anymore in this war. You got ruins, humans and warriors at war with each other. Only Em and Casimir wants peace but everyone else is making hard for them. This book is non stop action pack some love mix in there. You will fall in love all over with the story of Em and Casimir. Who will win in the end is up to you picking the second book of ruined and read for yourself. For first time readers here is my review of the first book, Ruined (Ruined #1) by Amy Tintera. So Happy Reading!

Book Summary:

Seventeen-year-old Flora Banks has no short-term memory. Her mind resets itself several times a day, and has since the age of ten, when the tumor that was removed from Flora’s brain took with it her ability to make new memories. That is, until she kisses Drake, her best friend’s boyfriend, the night before he leaves town. Miraculously, this one memory breaks through Flora’s fractured mind, and sticks. Flora is convinced that Drake is responsible for restoring her memory and making her whole again. So when an encouraging email from Drake suggests she meet him on the other side of the world, Flora knows with certainty that this is the first step toward reclaiming her life.

With little more than the words “be brave” inked into her skin, and written reminders of who she is and why her memory is so limited, Flora sets off on an impossible journey to Svalbard, Norway, the land of the midnight sun, determined to find Drake. But from the moment she arrives in the arctic, nothing is quite as it seems, and Flora must “be brave” if she is ever to learn the truth about herself, and to make it safely home.

My Review:

Flora her whole life has trouble remembering things, her long term memories are gone. The only way for her to remember each day is writing on her arm, or there notes laying around for her to find. Her best friend Paige help take care of her, then one day she kissed Paige boyfriend before he leave town. Now that the only memory that stays with her. When her family have to go away, leaving her alone for the first ever, Flora must find Drake to help remember things good. Will Flora be brave enough to this alone? This is book is a quick read, love how it is written. Kinda got to take a peck inside Flora head and what’s she been going through. Lots of secrets are hidden in this book and comes to light towards the end. Leaves you rooting for Flora to the boy who helped her remember. So enter Flora mind and see how she over comes her journey and find the truth why she can’t remember in the first place. Happy Reading!

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman

18199513_10209346593448426_1929274030807945899_n

Book Summary:

This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded.

The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.

But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it’s clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.

BRIEFING NOTE: Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.

My Review:

Who would have thought that when Kady and Ezra breaks up, the world would end? Well that’s what’s happen when a war breaks out. Now Kady and Ezra must live on a space station to train to fight their enemies.  Kady is a smart girl and hacker, digs for information on what her enemies and what secrets lays on their ship. While Ezra becomes a train pilot and learning the ropes of shooting people. When the enemy is getting closer it might be up to the two of them to save the human race? Let the clock down begin as it will be human versus machine, or human versus human. In the end only one will win this fight. Is it really the end of the human race? This book I really enjoy the out of space feelings to it, along with some nice action. You enjoy the the story of Kady and Ezra and it leave you emotional wreck and routing for these two to win. So dive and find out for yourself who will win this war in the end? Happy Reading!
