New York Comic Con

I was lucky to head to NYCC Thursday, then was lucky enough to score free tickets for Sunday as well. Sorry it took so long posting an update. When I got home Sunday was very sick with fever and still fighting off an cold and bad cough. Well I had such an blast at comic con. I was like in nerd heaven with so many fandom all over the place. I am a big gamer, anime, tv show, reader nerd over here. I like a bit of everything and test the waters out. As you can tell with some of my anime posts on here. Since I count manga as books as well. Thursday meet up with some friends and we got down to business and I mean book business. We wanted this one book Renegades everyone dying to get hands one. Lucky was number one in line for that. 22195375_10210604841623844_3529192876226728524_n

Then while I was busy playing at NYCC, I made my friend back at home race over to hot topic to grab me Sailor V NYCC edition funko pop. Thought they were gonna be sold out, boy was I wrong, hardly no one wanted my Sailor V. So Sad! Own my friends a huge pizza party and lots of love for that.

Mostly explore and took some pictures Thursday for fun and got tons of free books. Brought an new Sailor Moon shirt. You never to old to watch anime and still love Sailor Moon. Will leave you off with some pictures from Thursday Comic con and book haul..

Then let’s get to Sunday fun day. Again meet up with my booknerd friends. This time I had on my doctor who dress. Sorry just putting both days in one long post. Still not really over this head cold yet so bare with me. Sunday thought I would come home with about two books I only wanted, boy was I wrong. Had a nice mini book haul again and everyone love my dress. Mostly hang around the books section b/c everything was packed with people, more then Thursday. Very long day and was starting to get sick. Took not to many pictures this time. So here is Sunday pictures and fun.

This would be easy doing on video but hate the sound of my voice. After i got home was fever sick and still am. Took me a while to pick up a book again and start reading. Being drugs and half sleeping this week did not help me with reading much. Here is what me and Bella are reading next. We are reading Ship of the Dead the last Magnus Chase book of Rick Riordan. Never review any of his books on here before and have no idea how to start that since he has over 12 books and about 3 or 4 different series to keep track of. So here is Bella with the book. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

{Waiting On Wednesday} Genesis by Brendan Reichs

So I am counting down until next year when Nemesis book two comes out, Genesis. If you have yet heard of Nemesis then check out my books review of the first book here, Nemesis (Project Nemesis #1) by Brendan Reichs. This is book has a very good story line and so happy to see what happens next with Genesis so counting down the months until it comes. Here is the cover and summary to book two. I met Brendan in Boston for the first time and he was very nice. Been trying to get more people to read his book so I can have someone to talk to about it.

Book Summary:

“Prepare yourselves for greatness.” -James Dashner, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Maze Runner series.

Lord of the Flies meets The Matrix in Brendan Reichs’ blistering follow-up to the instant New York Times bestseller Nemesis.

Noah Livingston knows he is destined to survive.

The 64 members of Fire Lake’s sophomore class are trapped in a place where morals have no meaning, and zero rules apply. But Noah’s deaths have trained him–hardened him–to lead the strongest into the future . . . whatever that may be. And at any cost.

Min Wilder knows that survival alone isn’t enough.

Trapped in a violent world where brute force passes for leadership, it’s tempting to lay back and let everyone else fight it out. But Min’s instincts rebel against allowing others to decide who lives and who dies. She’s ready to fight for what she believes in. And against whomever might stand in her way.

Haunting the Deep (How to Hang a Witch #2) by Adriana Mather

Book Summary:

The Titanic meets the delicious horror of Ransom Riggs and the sass of Mean Girls in this follow-up to the #1 New York Times bestseller How to Hang a Witch, in which a contemporary teen finds herself a passenger on the famous “ship of dreams”—a story made all the more fascinating because the author’s own relatives survived the doomed voyage.

Samantha Mather knew her family’s connection to the infamous Salem Witch Trials might pose obstacles to an active social life. But having survived one curse, she never thought she’d find herself at the center of a new one.

This time, Sam is having recurring dreams about the Titanic . . . where she’s been walking the deck with first-class passengers, like her aunt and uncle. Meanwhile, in Sam’s waking life, strange missives from the Titanic have been finding their way to her, along with haunting visions of people who went down with the ship.

Ultimately, Sam and the Descendants, along with some help from heartthrob Elijah, must unravel who is behind the spell that is drawing her ever further into the dream ship . . . and closer to sharing the same grim fate as its ghostly passengers.

My Review:

I really love diving into the world of Adriana Mather again. The author who wrote How to hang a witch. Love the history of the Titanic and how it was brought to life in this book. Watching Sam to try to balance between pleasing her father wishes and wanting to do magic with her new friends. Seeing how Sam has grow since book two was a nice touch also. Enjoy little back story of Sam mom and her father on what happen between them. It was a good fun Halloween for Oct or anytime of the year. If you have yet read the first book, here is my review of it, How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather. Happy Reading!

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

Book Summary:

Scream meets YA in this hotly-anticipated new novel from the bestselling author of Anna and the French Kiss.

One-by-one, the students of Osborne High are dying in a series of gruesome murders, each with increasing and grotesque flair. As the terror grows closer and the hunt intensifies for the killer, the dark secrets among them must finally be confronted.

My Review:

Makani just started an new school year at Osborne High. Hiding from her past and starting new. Until an killer shows up and start killing everyone around her. Then the killer start targeting her but why? What secrets and her past to lead the killer on her trail? This book was little slow for a thriller and lots of body counts. Who don’t know who the killer until somewhat in middle of book. So if you ready for some body counts and killers walking about this book may be for you. So find out who is inside your house. Happy Reading!

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

Book Summary:

On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today. Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure and to live a lifetime in a single day.

My Review:

So when Death cast calls it mean you goons die. They give you an time but not how you will die. When Mateo gets the call he plans staying in and hiding out. Until he finds an buddy on the app. Rufus also gets and the call from death cast and the police. He meets up with Mateo on their final days together. Rufus slowly breaking Mateo out of his shell a bit also. This is book was something different that I ever read. First time reading an Adam book and enjoy the story summary of it. It was not my type of book at all but I gave it a try. More fantasy girl and fairytale retelling stories. But I do give all books I shot and try. Will you must see if they both die at the end for yourself? Happy Reading!
