Girl Made Of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake

Book Summary:
“I need Owen to explain this. Because yes, I do know that Owen would never do that, but I also know Hannah would never lie about something like that.”
Mara and Owen are about as close as twins can get. So when Mara’s friend Hannah accuses Owen of rape, Mara doesn’t know what to think. Can the brother she loves really be guilty of such a violent crime? Torn between the family she loves and her own sense of right and wrong, Mara is feeling lost, and it doesn’t help that things have been strained with her ex-girlfriend and best friend since childhood, Charlie.
As Mara, Hannah, and Charlie navigate this new terrain, Mara must face a trauma from her own past and decide where Charlie fits in her future. With sensitivity and openness, this timely novel confronts the difficult questions surrounding consent, victim blaming, and sexual assault.

My Review:

This book deals with some heavy issues and is a emotional roller coaster. I did enjoy the book and the characters in it.

Hannah is dealing with a lot of different issues on this book. Having girlfriend problems, her brother accused of rape. Trying to deal with her brother, is hard when it triggers a tragic dark secret for years. Can Hannah overcome this journey?

This book is sensitive for younger readers. Find out for yourself if Owen is guilty or innocent.

Royals by Rachel Hawkins

Book Summary:
Meet Daisy Winters. She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair; a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her to join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.
While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady . . . but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself.

My Review:

I have enjoyed Rachel Hawkins books in the past. Like her Hex Hall and Rebel Belles series. I’m sad this book falls a little flat for me. It lost it’s spark from her other books. She was my auto buy author. Have no real connections with the characters myself. Just a quick predictable read I got from the library.

If you guys don’t mind royal wedding planning, and the main character being a push over, then you might like this book. If you are unsure about this book because of my review, then get at library. It might not be for me but this book could be for you.

{Arc Review} Listen To Your Heart By Kasie West

Book Summary:
Talking to other people isn’t Kate Bailey’s favorite activity. She’d much rather be out on the lake, soaking up the solitude and sunshine. So when her best friend, Alana, convinces Kate to join their high school’s podcast, Kate is not expecting to be chosen as the host. Now she’ll have to answer calls and give advice on the air? Impossible.
But to Kate’s surprise, she turns out to be pretty good at the hosting gig. Then the podcast gets in a call from an anonymous guy, asking for advice about his unnamed crush. Kate is pretty sure that the caller is gorgeous Diego Martinez, and even surer that the girl in question is Alana. Kate is excited for her friend … until Kate herself starts to develop feelings for Diego. Suddenly, Kate finds that while doling out wisdom to others may be easy, asking for help is tougher than it looks, and following your own advice is even harder.
Kasie West’s adorable story of secrets, love, and friendship is sure to win over hearts everywhere.

My Review:

The cover to this book, makes me to swim in a lake. Looks so relaxing the cover. Very jealous of the characters on it. This book is such a fun summer read. Enjoy everything in the book, even the characters.

Kate gets to spend her summer by lake, dreaming to take over family business. Then force to host an radio show and give advice. Has she find her true calling in give advice or is the lake still calling her home?

{Arc Review} Furyborn by Claire Legrand

Book Summary:
Follows two fiercely independent young women, centuries apart, who hold the power to save their world…or doom it.
When assassins ambush her best friend, the crown prince, Rielle Dardenne risks everything to save him, exposing her ability to perform all seven kinds of elemental magic. The only people who should possess this extraordinary power are a pair of prophesied queens: a queen of light and salvation and a queen of blood and destruction. To prove she is the Sun Queen, Rielle must endure seven trials to test her magic. If she fails, she will be executed…unless the trials kill her first.
A thousand years later, the legend of Queen Rielle is a mere fairy tale to bounty hunter Eliana Ferracora. When the Undying Empire conquered her kingdom, she embraced violence to keep her family alive. Now, she believes herself untouchable–until her mother vanishes without a trace, along with countless other women in their city. To find her, Eliana joins a rebel captain on a dangerous mission and discovers that the evil at the heart of the empire is more terrible than she ever imagined.
As Rielle and Eliana fight in a cosmic war that spans millennia, their stories intersect, and the shocking connections between them ultimately determine the fate of their world–and of each other.

My Review:

This book was so amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it. The publishers was nice to sent me a review copy. Enjoyed most of the characters and love the world building.

One queen of blood and One queen of light. Read their stories and discover which one can save the world

Eilana, my favorite. She is kick butt assassin in the book. Do what needs to be done to survive, even hiding her own secrets from the kind himself. Who is she really?

Rielle, I enjoy her story. An young girl in hiding, but force to come out. Endure harsh treatment to prove she either Queen of Blood or Queen of light. Who will she become in the end?

Book is for more older teens. It has some mature contents in it. It for high fantasy lovers. There so many characters to love in the book. Grab some tissues that some sad stuff going on.

Happy Reading!!!!!!

Bookish Boyfriends by Tiffany Schmidt

Book Summary:
In this contemporary YA, a teenager’s favorite literary heroes woo her in real life
The first of two books in an intended paperback original series about a girl whose classic literary crushes manifest in real life. Merrilee Campbell, 16, thinks boys are better in books, chivalry is dead, and there’d be nothing more romantic than having just one guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. She’s about to get the chance to test these daydreams when she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer into Reginald R. Hero High, where all their fantasies come true—often with surprising consequences.

My Review:

Thought this book was such a fun read. Love all the bookish references that were in the book. So many different characters to either like or hate.

Merrilee is an dreamer with books. Wants a perfect book boyfriend when she starts school. But that’s kinda hard to do, when you compare your life to books all the time. Will she get her head out of the book, and find real love?

Eliza, I liked her in the book. She was like the voice of reason to Merrilee. Making her best friend is happy and give her awesome advice. Enjoy these two friendship a lot.

Then there Toby guy best guy friend. I love him so much in the book. The support of the group and always watching out for Merrilee. Will he be able to help her get through high school?

This book has so many characters to keep track of. It was a fun read for all ages. If you into cute fluffy reads, then your in for a treat.

Sky in The Deep by Adrienne Young

Book Summary:
OND ELDR. BREATHE FIRE.
Raised to be a warrior, seventeen-year-old Eelyn fights alongside her Aska clansmen in an ancient rivalry against the Riki clan. Her life is brutal but simple: fight and survive. Until the day she sees the impossible on the battlefield — her brother, fighting with the enemy — the brother she watched die five years ago.
Faced with her brother’s betrayal, she must survive the winter in the mountains with the Riki, in a village where every neighbor is an enemy, every battle scar possibly one she delivered. But when the Riki village is raided by a ruthless clan thought to be a legend, Eelyn is even more desperate to get back to her beloved family.
She is given no choice but to trust Fiske, her brother’s friend, who sees her as a threat. They must do the impossible: unite the clans to fight together, or risk being slaughtered one by one. Driven by a love for her clan and her growing love for Fiske, Eelyn must confront her own definition of loyalty and family while daring to put her faith in the people she’s spent her life hating.

My Review:

I have fallen in love with this book. Such a original story that drew me in. So did the cover of it. Even enjoy the characters in it a lot.

Eelyn is so cool in the book. You really dont want to mess with her and her axe. She would do anything to protect her family.

Fiske I enjoy him in the book also. Trying to show Eelyn their clan is not so bad after all. Can Eelyn trust the man who took her away from home?

With so much clan fighting, family secrets. Will their ever be in peace in the end?

Book is action pack, family betrayal and maybe little romance. For something new in the viking world, then try Sky in the Deep.

Happy Reading!!
