{Can’t Wait Wednesday} Echoes Between Us by Katie Mcgarry

I’m such a huge Katie Mcgarry fan. I reread her books when I’m in reading slumps. My first blog post was Walk the Edge by Katie Mcgarry. Today they reveal the cover of her book coming out January 14th, 2020. So look out for it.

Book Summary:

Echoes Between Us is bestselling author Katie McGarry’s breakout teen contemporary novel about a girl with everything to lose and the boy who will do anything to save her.

Veronica sees ghosts. More specifically, her mother’s ghost. The afterimages of blinding migraines caused by the brain tumor that keeps her on the fringes and consumes her whole life haunt her, even as she wonders if it’s something more…

Golden boy Sawyer is handsome and popular, a state champion swimmer, but his adrenaline addiction draws him to Veronica.

A girl with nothing to live for and a boy with everything to lose–can they conquer their demons together?

{Arc Review} A House of Salt and Sorrow by Erin A. Craig

Book Summary:
In a manor by the sea, twelve sisters are cursed.
Annaleigh lives a sheltered life at Highmoor, a manor by the sea, with her sisters, their father, and stepmother. Once they were twelve, but loneliness fills the grand halls now that four of the girls’ lives have been cut short. Each death was more tragic than the last—the plague, a plummeting fall, a drowning, a slippery plunge—and there are whispers throughout the surrounding villages that the family is cursed by the gods.
Disturbed by a series of ghostly visions, Annaleigh becomes increasingly suspicious that the deaths were no accidents. Her sisters have been sneaking out every night to attend glittering balls, dancing until dawn in silk gowns and shimmering slippers, and Annaleigh isn’t sure whether to try to stop them or to join their forbidden trysts. Because who—or what—are they really dancing with?
When Annaleigh’s involvement with a mysterious stranger who has secrets of his own intensifies, it’s a race to unravel the darkness that has fallen over her family—before it claims her next.

My Review:

House of Salt and Sorrow was such a awesome read. I really love this new twisted version of The Twelve Dancing Princesses. It was haunting and very beautiful written. I did love the characters, mostly the sisters bond for each other.

Annaleigh is the main character. She would do anything to protect her sisters. When every in town think the sisters are cursed, no one wants to deal with that. Then a mysterious stranger walk into town, he may hold answers to what’s going on. Can she really trust this stranger?

This book lends you to a magical place the girls escape to dance the night away. Can they really trust anything in they see there?

This book is like a mind game experience. With so many magical elements and ghost lurking around. Hard to believe what it real anymore. It filled with magical adventures, death, and romance. It can be dancing your way onto your shelves on Aug 6th. You would want to add this on your TBR.

Happy Reading!!!!

Aiden Emerson is an all-star pitcher and the all-around golden boy of Riverton. Or at least he was, before he quit the team the last day of junior year without any explanation. How could he tell people he’s losing his vision at seventeen?

Straight-laced Olivia thought she had life all figured out. But when her dream internship falls apart, her estranged mother comes back into her life, and her long-time boyfriend ghosts her right before summer break, she’s starting to think fate has a weird sense of humor.

Each struggling to find a new direction, Aiden and Olivia decide to live summer by chance. Every fleeting adventure and stolen kiss is as fragile as a coin flip in this heartfelt journey to love and self-discovery from the author of Love Songs & Other Lies.

My Review:

When Summer Ends, you get to spend some time by the lake and hope to change your luck.

Olivia has the summer planned out. She gets to spend more time with friends and her boyfriend. And she even has the perfect job lined up. When her grandma gets a new job out of state, it throws Olivia’s plans through a loop. There goes her perfect summer and her boyfriend. Now she’s going to make the best of her summer with the luck of a coin and taking new chances for the summer.

Aiden is a star baseball player, he’s dealing with some personal issues. Suddenly he must quit the team and start working with his uncle. His uncle just so happens to hire Olivia for the summer. At first, these two get off on the foot, but with a flip of a coin, their summer change drastically.

With Olivia moving away, what will happen between Aiden and Olivia?

This book was a quick read for me. I enjoyed the storyline of the book. It was fun watching how the main characters interact with each other. It was funny at times at how they fight with one another. They have such chemistry in the book. It a good book to read during the summer. I was happy to be a part of this blog tour.

Heads or Tails? How will the summer turn out?

Happy Reading!!!!

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

Book Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Ana is a scoundrel by nurture and an outlaw by nature. Found as a child drifting through space with a sentient android called D09, Ana was saved by a fearsome space captain and the grizzled crew she now calls family. But D09—one of the last remaining illegal Metals—has been glitching, and Ana will stop at nothing to find a way to fix him.
Ana’s desperate effort to save D09 leads her on a quest to steal the coordinates to a lost ship that could offer all the answers. But at the last moment, a spoiled Ironblood boy beats Ana to her prize. He has his own reasons for taking the coordinates, and he doesn’t care what he’ll sacrifice to keep them.
When everything goes wrong, she and the Ironblood end up as fugitives on the run. Now their entire kingdom is after them—and the coordinates—and not everyone wants them captured alive.
What they find in a lost corner of the universe will change all their lives—and unearth dangerous secrets. But when a darkness from Ana’s past returns, she must face an impossible choice: does she protect a kingdom that wants her dead or save the Metal boy she loves?

My Review:

I so did enjoy Heart of Iron alot. It was fun and adventurous read. I did love most of the characters in the book. Which there are a lot to keep track of.

Ana grew up on a ship with no memories of who she is. She grew up being a thief and enjoy life with her new family. When Di, her metal friend needs repairs. She will go into dangerous territory to save him.

Di is a metal, he glitches a lot, but still very loyal to Ana. Both him and Ana been found together in middle of space. Left with no memories on what happen. Di knows he not a real human but he has such strong feelings like one. Will Ana be able to fix her friend?

With Jax their trusted pilot to lead the way and keep new comer Robb in his place. Their new path in life with lead to secrets and new adventures waiting for them.

Their are atleast four points of views in this book. It hard to chose which characters to like more. This was a fun read from start and finish. It a refreshing for a new take on Anastasia retelling. I’m looking forward to start book, Soul of Stars. Which came out this week.

The Best Lies by Sara Lyu

Book Summary:
Remy Tsai used to know how her story would turn out. But now, she doesn’t even know what tomorrow will look like.
She was happy once. Remy had her boyfriend Jack, and Elise, her best friend—her soulmate—who understood her better than anyone else in the world.
But now Jack is dead, shot through the chest—
And it was Elise who pulled the trigger.
Was it self-defense? Or something deeper, darker than anything Remy could have imagined? As the police investigate, Remy does the same, sifting through her own memories, looking for a scrap of truth that could save the friendship that means everything to her.
Told in alternating timelines, Thelma and Louise meets Gone Girl in this twisted psychological thriller about the dark side of obsessive friendship.

My Review:

The Best Lies was such a thrill ride. I really did enjoy the story and love the characters in it.

Remy and Elise are prefect for each other. They been through a lot of tough times together and are hardly ever a part. What happens when one of them just snap?

Right off bat the book starts off with Jack’s death. It is told in flashbacks on Remy and Elise friendship, and up until that night. With Remy still in shock and trying to come into grips what happen. Is she willing to protect Elise, and what really happen to Jack?

This book was a roller coaster ride. I really was hooked onto the story from begining until to end. I’m glad I picked it on sale for 50% at barnes and nobles, and gave it a shot. The cover is so sweet and innocent. Could read this book over and over again. If your in mood for some new mystery/thriller reads, you’ll be in for a treat.

Wicked Fox by Kat Cho

Book Summary:
A fresh and addictive fantasy-romance set in modern-day Seoul.
Eighteen-year-old Gu Miyoung has a secret–she’s a gumiho, a nine-tailed fox who must devour the energy of men in order to survive. Because so few believe in the old tales anymore, and with so many evil men no one will miss, the modern city of Seoul is the perfect place to hide and hunt.
But after feeding one full moon, Miyoung crosses paths with Jihoon, a human boy, being attacked by a goblin deep in the forest. Against her better judgment, she violates the rules of survival to rescue the boy, losing her fox bead–her gumiho soul–in the process.
Jihoon knows Miyoung is more than just a beautiful girl–he saw her nine tails the night she saved his life. His grandmother used to tell him stories of the gumiho, of their power and the danger they pose to humans. He’s drawn to her anyway.
With murderous forces lurking in the background, Miyoung and Jihoon develop a tenuous friendship that blossoms into something more. But when a young shaman tries to reunite Miyoung with her bead, the consequences are disastrous . . . forcing Miyoung to choose between her immortal life and Jihoon’s.

My Review:

Wicked Fox was such a good read. You will be in a culture shock. The story and the details of this book was so prefect. I loved the characters and the fantasy elements that brought it to life.

Gu Miyoung is half gumiko {fox demon} and half human. She must eat every so often or she dies. Since she is half human, she feeds only off on mostly evil people. She still has murals for half demon and trying to please her mother.

When I think of half gumiko, a nine tail fox. It reminds me of my anime series Naruto which I love.

Jihoon is such a sweet guy in the book. He does everything he can to please his caregiver. Then one night walking his dog, his life change when he spots Miyoung in fox form. He was so intrigued with her world and smitten by her beauty, when his world is turn upside when she saves his life that night. What adventures and secrets lives between the two?

This fantasy read was like watching a kdrama {Korea Drama}. It has the making of a great kdrama, that I would love to watch and read over and over again. The cover is such a nice touch to the book. This book is great for new readers to the Korea world and culture of it. Get to learn some fun folklore and enjoy reading the detailed scenery.

Happy Reading!!!
