Amelia Unabridged by Ashley Schumacher

Summary:
Sparks fly between two teens as they grapple with grief, love, and the future.
Eighteen-year-old Amelia Griffin is obsessed with the famous Orman Chronicles, written by the young and reclusive prodigy N. E. Endsley. They’re the books that brought her and her best friend Jenna together after Amelia’s father left and her family imploded. So when Amelia and Jenna get the opportunity to attend a book festival with Endsley in attendance, Amelia is ecstatic. It’s the perfect way to start off their last summer before college.
In a heartbeat, everything goes horribly wrong. When Jenna gets a chance to meet the author and Amelia doesn’t, the two have a blowout fight like they’ve never experienced. And before Amelia has a chance to mend things, Jenna is killed in a freak car accident. Grief-stricken, and without her best friend to guide her, Amelia questions everything she had planned for the future.
When a mysterious, rare edition of the Orman Chronicles arrives, Amelia is convinced that it somehow came from Jenna. Tracking the book to an obscure but enchanting bookstore in Michigan, Amelia is shocked to find herself face-to-face with the enigmatic and handsome N. E. Endsley himself, the reason for Amelia’s and Jenna’s fight and perhaps the clue to what Jenna wanted to tell her all along.

My Review:

Amelia Unabridged was such an unforgettable read. I really did love the storyline and the characters in it. The book deals with lost and finding yourself along the way. I thought it was well written and I like the cover to it a lot. You see the main character, Amelia on the cover looking lost.

I really like Amelia in this book. In the beginning she becomes a huge book nerd and have fallen in love with a new fantasy series. Jenna and her been friends forever, have their lives plan out even going to same colleges. I enjoy how they first met at the bookstore.

Sadly after a fight during a signing event, the girls drift a part. Then one day, Jenna suddenly passed away. Amelia is left alone to pick up the pieces and carry on Jenna plan for her. Suddenly a mysterious package arrives and now she goes looking for answers in Michigan. Soon Amelia starting to feel like she to belong here, but she can’t disappoint her friend wishes even after in death…

What will Amelia will do?

This book was so many emotions. It deals with grief and finding out where you belong. Amelia deals with the pressures to stick to Jenna plans for her, and Jenna’s family happy. When she goes discover what Jenna left her, Amelia starts enjoying things she loves again. Also questions what she wants out of life, beside the plan. She just wants to make everyone happy, despite making herself happy. Its one of those books you read in one sitting and fall in love.

Amelia Unabridged is prefect for people who love the setting that takes place in a bookstore and have a cute doggie in it. Such a cute read on learning to love and dealing with grief…..

This book is like a mystery for Jess when one day strange things start happening to her. It has a nice twists within the book. The cover is prefect for the book, a room in the 90s.

The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe

Summary:
A slick, twisty YA page-turner about the daughter of a con artist who is taken hostage in a bank heist.
Nora O’Malley’s been a lot of girls. As the daughter of a con-artist who targets criminal men, she grew up as her mother’s protégé. But when mom fell for the mark instead of conning him, Nora pulled the ultimate con: escape.
For five years Nora’s been playing at normal. But she needs to dust off the skills she ditched because she has three problems:
#1: Her ex walked in on her with her girlfriend. Even though they’re all friends, Wes didn’t know about her and Iris.
#2: The morning after Wes finds them kissing, they all have to meet to deposit the fundraiser money they raised at the bank. It’s a nightmare that goes from awkward to deadly, because:
#3: Right after they enter bank, two guys start robbing it.
The bank robbers may be trouble, but Nora’s something else entirely. They have no idea who they’re really holding hostage…

My Review:

The Girls I’ve Been was such a fun read. I love the storyline about an ex-con girl goes up against bank robbers. Also I love the cover of the book so much. So different than other covers I have seen.

Nora life was never easy. Her mother taught her the ropes of conning people at a very young age and being so many different people. She kinda looses herself there. Her sister was lucky to get out and will do anything to save Nora from their mother abuse.

Years later Nora is living a good life, her past behind her. When she goes to the bank with her friends, her past catches up with her. Now she must use her conning ways to save her friends and the people in the bank, even if she must expose her dark past.

This book was pretty much fun from the beginning until the end. You get a look at Nora dark past and what she suffer through with her mom. She is a good kid and will do anything to just survive and live a normal life. Her sister is kinda cool, helping her out along the way.

When her friends learn more of her dark past, will they still be together in the end???

The Girls I’ve Been may some trigger warning about mental abuse the main character deals with and her mother deals with physical abuse.

This is a very good book, if your into con reads.

Happy Reading!!!!

With the possibility that someone out there is hunting teens, Cat must make a choice: Use her unusual ability to discover the truth and find Riley or keep running away from a power she can’t control. Only one choice will put her in a killer’s sights…

My Review:

You were never here was a good read. I liked how the mystery of the book involves a little paranormal. I like the details in the cover of the book.

I feel bad for Cat in the book. She tries to have a normal life at school, but then she end up back home. When she returns home, she finds out her ex best friend is missing. Cat may have the powers to find him. If she willing to learn how to use them.

This book was a quick read for me. You see how much the characters change over the years that Cat left town. I like the idea Cat having a gift, just wish we could explore it more in the book. Like why she has this gift and where it came from. It was a nice mystery with a twist I did like at the end. It just one be guessing game on what happen with Riley and Cat may be the key to solving it.

If you like a good mystery, then you might enjoy You Were Never Here.

The Obsession by Jesse Q. Sutanto

Summary:
A classic sort of love story… except somebody might wind up dead.
Nobody knows Delilah like Logan does. Nobody. He makes sure of it by learning everything he can through her social media and watching her through a hidden camera he has trained on her house. Some might call him a stalker. Logan prefers to be called “romantic.”
But after Logan sees Delilah killing her abusive stepfather, he realizes there’s still more about her to discover. His sweet, perfect Delilah isn’t so perfect after all.
Delilah knows she should feel guilty, but all she feels is free. She’s so over the men in her life controlling her. Except Logan saw what she did, and he won’t let her forget it.
Delilah is done being the victim. And she refuses to be a character in Logan’s twisted fantasy. If Logan won’t let her go… she’ll make him.

My Review:

I’m very obsessed with this book!! The book was so tense and very crazy. That’s why I love it so much. Also I love how the cover just draws you in. The main characters are just plain messed up in the head.

You have Logan who was obsessed with another girl before she died. Then he becomes crazy in love with Delilah. He starts stalking her online and set up cameras at her place. Logan caught Delilah killing her abusive stepfather, now he wants to save her. He forces her date him and give him a chance.

Then you have prefect Delilah, never gets in trouble or do drugs. She dealing with abuse by her stepfather who is a cop. Delilah got her furture line up until she could not take the abuse anymore. Little does she know her stalker saw her kill him and force into an unwanted relationship. Will Delilah be able to set herself free from Logan grip?

This is not your typical love story. Delilah and Logan are just crazy and mess up. They both kinda evil on the inside. Sometimes I think they could be both prefect for each. It was a nice quick read. Could read it over and over again. I’m still processing on what I just read also.

Also that ending drove me mad…

Looking for some crazy characters, a little mystery and some twists then book might be for you.
