Hope everyone has a nice Christmas with family and fur babies this year!!!
Summary:
I’ve never been a stranger to the darkness. But when darkness comes knocking and looks that good, who wouldn’t invite him in?
Draven is mysterious, evasive, and hot as sin. The only thing more infuriating than how much he won’t say is how obnoxious he is every time he does open his mouth. But when a group of strangers attacks me and he fights back, causing them to vanish into a cloud of black dust, I know Draven is more than he seems.
He finally shows me there’s a veil separating the world I know from a world of demons living all around us. Turns out, good and evil are just words. Some of the demons don’t fall into either category. And I’m realizing just how easily I fit in among the ancient warlocks, the divine soldiers, and the twisted supernaturals…
There’s so much more to me. To my past. And to what I am truly capable of than I ever thought possible. So when all signs point to me having the ability to unleash Hell on earth? I’ll have to decide if I want to do the world a solid and save it, or give it one hell of a makeover.
My Review:
Ember of Night was such a magical read again. With so books I been reading, I must do a reread at times. Ember of Night was so emotional the second time into it. I still love the world building and the characters.
Harley has such a hard life which may cause some trigger warnings. She deals with physical abuse at the hand of her father to protect sister. Harley has a plan on her 18 birthday to get own place and take sister with her. Things don’t go as place when demons start attacking her. Turns out everyone wants her blood and she has no reason.
It sucks for 17 year Harley who has to deal with some tough issues herself. Plus being an unknown magical force can put on some added pressure. This book will have trigger warnings for some readers. Also book two Shadow of Light recently came out. I hope to dive into that also. It was nice getting a refresher when I reread the book. Plus don’t forgot how pretty the cover the is. It fits the book perfectly
If your into hot angels, demons and fun manga and anime references, then check out Ember of Night.
Happy Reading!!!!
Summary:
We were like fire, the four of us. Catching each other’s sparks until the flames grew, spread, raged beyond our control.
We’ll give them back the damage they left us with, burden them with the weight of our pain.
We may be temporarily broken, but we will leave them forever charred.
Ashes to ashes.
It wasn’t the kidnapping that ruined Cass Adams’s life. It was the letters that came after. The pink envelopes that appear in her car, her locker, her bedroom. Notes from the man she escaped, telling her that he’s always there, always watching.
And that someday, he’ll be back for her.
The police say there’s nothing they can do, and Cass resigns herself to live in fear until she reconnects with three old friends-three girls ready to exact vengeance on those who wronged them.
But the deeper Cass digs, the more shocking the truth becomes, especially when she discovers that the person who ruined her life may be the only one who can save it.
My Review:
What happens if you were kidnapped, and no one could help you?
After one frightful night, Cas lives in fear. She was kidnapped one night, and manged to escape. Her nightmares are far from over since the kidnapper is still out leaving notes. The cops are useless, thinking she made it up. With the help of some friends, they start to take things into their hands. How far are they willing to go for revenge?
Out of the Fire was such a tense book. You have Cass always looking over her shoulder and trying to figure out who would want to hurt her. She is so angry and lost in the beginning. Mostly she takes out her anger to help out her friends with their problems. In every mystery/thriller the cop don’t do a thing to help. It’s always up the main character to figure things out with their friends. I also like the pink cover of this read. This was a nice fast pace read , full of twists and a guessing game. I really did enjoyed it.
Happy Reading!

There so many fun doctor who references with in the book, which I love. A world were people have their own gifts, sounds pretty cool. I love how all their friends interact with each other and have their own little group. This a short read and so much fun. I really did love this book and it fun adventures.

A high-stakes heist novel set in a gritty world of magic and malice
In just over a year’s time, Ryia Cautella has already earned herself a reputation as the quickest, deadliest blade in the dockside city of Carrowwick—not to mention the sharpest tongue. But Ryia Cautella is not her real name.
For the past six years, a deadly secret has kept her in hiding, running from town to town, doing whatever it takes to stay one step ahead of the formidable Guildmaster—the sovereign ruler of the five kingdoms of Thamorr. No matter how far or fast she travels, his servants never fail to track her down…but even the most powerful men can be defeated.
Ryia’s path now leads directly into the heart of the Guildmaster’s stronghold, and against every instinct she has, it’s not a path she can walk alone. Forced to team up with a crew of assorted miscreants, smugglers, and thieves, Ryia must plan her next moves very carefully. If she succeeds, her freedom is won once and for all…but unfortunately for Ryia, her new allies are nearly as selfish as she is, and they all have plans of their own.
Summary:
Death is her destiny.
Half British Reaper, half Japanese Shinigami, Ren Scarborough has been collecting souls in the London streets for centuries. Expected to obey the harsh hierarchy of the Reapers who despise her, Ren conceals her emotions and avoids her tormentors as best she can.
When her failure to control her Shinigami abilities drives Ren out of London, she flees to Japan to seek the acceptance she’s never gotten from her fellow Reapers. Accompanied by her younger brother, the only being on earth to care for her, Ren enters the Japanese underworld to serve the Goddess of Death… only to learn that here, too, she must prove herself worthy. Determined to earn respect, Ren accepts an impossible task—find and eliminate three dangerous Yokai demons—and learns how far she’ll go to claim her place at Death’s side.
My Review:
The Keeper of Night was such magical book. I love the storyline of half Reapers/Shinigami. Also did love Japanese culture and anime. Also the cover is awesome looking. The main character on it looks bad ass. At times your not even sure if she is evil or good.
Ren has grown up being a reaper with her brother. She is an outcast bc she is half Shinigami. When she accidentally uses her Shinigami magic on the higher up Reapers, she is on the run. Now it’s time for her to find her mother and have a place she can call home.
This book was very action pack. I love learning the history of Reapers and Shinigami. It was a very detailed story. I like how in the book Ren might not be a hero, but someone looking for a place to belong. People will do anything to survive. So many crazy twists throughout the book. I’m so looking forward to book two, hopefully soon.
Happy Reading!!!

Summary:
Dare Chase doesn’t believe in ghosts.
Privately, she’s a supernatural skeptic. But publicly, she’s keeping her doubts to herself—because she’s the voice of Attachments, her brand-new paranormal investigation podcast, and she needs her ghost-loving listeners to tune in.
That’s what brings her to Arrington Estate. Thirty years ago, teenager Atheleen Bell drowned in Arrington’s lake, and legend says her spirit haunts the estate. Dare’s more interested in the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death—circumstances that she believes point to a living culprit, not the supernatural. Still, she’s vowed to keep an open mind as she investigates, even if she’s pretty sure what she’ll find.
But Arrington is full of surprises. Good ones like Quinn, the cute daughter of the house’s new owner. And baffling ones like the threatening messages left scrawled in paint on Quinn’s walls, the ghastly face that appears behind Dare’s own in the mirror, and the unnatural current that nearly drowns their friend Holly in the lake. As Dare is drawn deeper into the mysteries of Arrington, she’ll have to rethink the boundaries of what is possible. Because if something is lurking in the lake…it might not be willing to let her go.
My Review:
Are you ready for a ghost story?
Dare Chase has her own YouTube show about chasing ghost. She accepts a challenge of finding a missing girl year ago. With some help with eager fans, she enters the world of Arrington Estate. Where people mystery disappeared and ghost sightings. For someone who don’t believe in ghosts, might has her hands full this time.
The Girls Are Never Gone was such a creepy read. For me I can read horror books all year long. I really love this book and the haunted house feeling to it. I like how Dare Chase don’t believe in ghost and seems to have an explanation to what the girls hear and see in the house. Also I love the cover to this book so much. It fits the ghost theme so prefect. Could read this book lots of times.
This book has:
A Ghost Hunter who don’t believe in ghost
Haunted House
Small romance
Lot of haunting
Twists
Ready to be scare then pick up The Girls Are Never Gone.

Then Ziva receives a commission from a powerful warlord, and the result is a sword capable of stealing its victims’ secrets. A sword that can cut far deeper than the length of its blade. A sword with the strength to topple kingdoms. When Ziva learns of the warlord’s intentions to use the weapon to enslave all the world under her rule, she takes her sister and flees.
Joined by a distractingly handsome mercenary and a young scholar with extensive knowledge of the world’s known magics, Ziva and her sister set out on a quest to keep the sword safe until they can find a worthy wielder or a way to destroy it entirely.
A teenage blacksmith with social anxiety accepts a commission from the wrong person and is forced to go on the run to protect the world from the most powerful magical sword she’s ever made.
My Review:
What if you have the power to forge the most killer weapon on earth?
Ziva has a gift making magical weapons. She is also very reserved and quiet. With the help of her sister she, she gets a job with a powerful warlord. Ziva makes a deadly blade that reveals secrets by using blood. She hears the warlord plan to go to war and use her to make make more weapons. Ziva takes her sister and they are on the run and find a way to destroy the blade.
Blade of Secrets was such a magical book. I really did enjoy the world building and the characters. Ziva is very scare of people and her sister seems to talk for her at times. I think how she grows a bit in the book and open up. The cover of the book is very pretty. I’m looking forward to more adventures with Ziva and sister in next book. I thought it was a nice start to a new fantasy read. With characters you might enjoy or love to hate. Also filled with some crazy twists.
Looking for a new fantasy read, check out Blade of Secrets.
Summary:
Long ago cursed by the god of lies, a poor miller’s daughter has developed a talent for spinning stories that are fantastical and spellbinding and entirely untrue.
Or so everyone believes.
When one of Serilda’s outlandish tales draws the attention of the sinister Erlking and his undead hunters, she finds herself swept away into a grim world where ghouls and phantoms prowl the earth and hollow-eyed ravens track her every move. The king orders Serilda to complete the impossible task of spinning straw into gold, or be killed for telling falsehoods. In her desperation, Serilda unwittingly summons a mysterious boy to her aid. He agrees to help her… for a price. Love isn’t meant to be part of the bargain.
Soon Serilda realizes that there is more than one secret hidden in the castle walls, including an ancient curse that must be broken if she hopes to end the tyranny of the king and his wild hunt forever.
My Review:
A miller’s daughter with the gift to lie, what can go wrong?
Serilda in the book helps teaches children in the town. They are the only ones that enjoy her stories and company. While the rest of town thinks she cursed and stays away from her. On one faithful night her stories caught the attention of Erlking. Elking is a powerful ruler and hunts magical creatures for sports. He sets his eye on Serilda bc she can spin straw into gold, according to her lie. Now she keep lying and pretending in order to save herself and her father.
Gilded was such a magical read. You get to dive into the mystery of Erlking. Who brings terror to everyone in the village. The story was very detailed in the world building. I thought it was just very long and hard to focus at times for me. I do like the cover and it has meaning to it for the book. Serilda can be a handful at times and seems to get herself into more trouble with the stories or lies she tells. After that ending, I’m very still interested on will happen in book two. I did very much liked this read not love it, like her other books. It was mostly just felt like it drags out for hours the story and hope book two is more exciting and action packed.
Looking for a nice Rumpelstiltskin retelling, then check out Glided.
Happy Reading!!!!!
