Summary:
Eighteen-year-old Ziva prefers metal to people. She spends her days tucked away in her forge, safe from society and the anxiety it causes her, using her magical gift to craft unique weapons imbued with power.
Then Ziva receives a commission from a powerful warlord, and the result is a sword capable of stealing its victims’ secrets. A sword that can cut far deeper than the length of its blade. A sword with the strength to topple kingdoms. When Ziva learns of the warlord’s intentions to use the weapon to enslave all the world under her rule, she takes her sister and flees.
Joined by a distractingly handsome mercenary and a young scholar with extensive knowledge of the world’s known magics, Ziva and her sister set out on a quest to keep the sword safe until they can find a worthy wielder or a way to destroy it entirely.
A teenage blacksmith with social anxiety accepts a commission from the wrong person and is forced to go on the run to protect the world from the most powerful magical sword she’s ever made.
My Review:
What if you have the power to forge the most killer weapon on earth?
Ziva has a gift making magical weapons. She is also very reserved and quiet. With the help of her sister she, she gets a job with a powerful warlord. Ziva makes a deadly blade that reveals secrets by using blood. She hears the warlord plan to go to war and use her to make make more weapons. Ziva takes her sister and they are on the run and find a way to destroy the blade.
Blade of Secrets was such a magical book. I really did enjoy the world building and the characters. Ziva is very scare of people and her sister seems to talk for her at times. I think how she grows a bit in the book and open up. The cover of the book is very pretty. I’m looking forward to more adventures with Ziva and sister in next book. I thought it was a nice start to a new fantasy read. With characters you might enjoy or love to hate. Also filled with some crazy twists.
Looking for a new fantasy read, check out Blade of Secrets.
Nice review! I look forward to reading this book.
