Happy New Year!!

Wishing my readers and followers a Happy New Year! This year been a blast, went to Book Con, ALA (american library association, and NYCC (New York Comic Con) this year. Made out with lots of books at the end of each event and it was fun. Next year Book Con again with my new book friends. So far going to NYC for the book Unearthed signing event in Jan. Then Feb there is Susan Dennard and Elisa Kove sigining event at my barnes and noboles. Also the author A.C Gaughen, her book is reign of earth. Working more on blog goals and keeping this more active as much as I can. Also I enjoy some video games, anime and reading mange during my spare time. Here is Bella in the snow. Man it’s winter! So far read 103 books this year alone. I had set my goal for 75 this year and went over that. I think I need an life LOL. My goal next year will be 80 books. What’s your goals for books?

Tokyo Ghoul Monster Edition

So I really enjoy the anime a lot of Tokyo Ghoul. The manga just finish up so I think the anime series might be almost over also. Think there about two seasons now on hulu. Prey for a third season soon. For those new to the anime no worries, its on hulu to watch and all. Lucky barnes and nobles doing this monster edition so kinda like 3 books in one, for those you want to start collecting the manga. Monster Edition will be out Nov. 21st. For my readers if you like anime and manga reviews on my blog let me know. I like to mix it up sometimes and do both once in a while as I count manga as books. Anime Summary:

Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, individuals who can only survive by eating human flesh, live among the normal humans in secret, hiding their true nature to evade pursuit from the authorities. Including enhanced speed, senses, and regenerative ability, a regular ghoul is several times stronger than a normal human, has a skin resistant to ordinary piercing weapons and has at least one special predatory organ called a “Kagune”, which it can manifest and use as a weapon during combat. Another distinctive trait of ghouls is that when they are excited or hungry, the color of their sclera in both eyes turns black and their irises red. This mutation is known as a “kakugan.” In the case of a half-ghoul, only one of the eyes undergoes the transformation. A half-ghoul can either be born naturally as a ghoul and a human’s offspring, or artificially created by transplanting some ghoul organs into a human. In both cases, a half-ghoul is usually much stronger than a pure-blood ghoul. There is also the case of half-humans, hybrids of ghouls and humans that can feed like normal humans and lack a Kagune while possessing enhanced abilities, but shortened lifespans. To hunt down the ghouls, several government-sponsored organizations around the world were created.

New York Comic Con

I was lucky to head to NYCC Thursday, then was lucky enough to score free tickets for Sunday as well. Sorry it took so long posting an update. When I got home Sunday was very sick with fever and still fighting off an cold and bad cough. Well I had such an blast at comic con. I was like in nerd heaven with so many fandom all over the place. I am a big gamer, anime, tv show, reader nerd over here. I like a bit of everything and test the waters out. As you can tell with some of my anime posts on here. Since I count manga as books as well. Thursday meet up with some friends and we got down to business and I mean book business. We wanted this one book Renegades everyone dying to get hands one. Lucky was number one in line for that. 

Then while I was busy playing at NYCC, I made my friend back at home race over to hot topic to grab me Sailor V NYCC edition funko pop. Thought they were gonna be sold out, boy was I wrong, hardly no one wanted my Sailor V. So Sad! Own my friends a huge pizza party and lots of love for that.

Mostly explore and took some pictures Thursday for fun and got tons of free books. Brought an new Sailor Moon shirt. You never to old to watch anime and still love Sailor Moon. Will leave you off with some pictures from Thursday Comic con and book haul..

 

 

Then let’s get to Sunday fun day. Again meet up with my booknerd friends. This time I had on my doctor who dress. Sorry just putting both days in one long post. Still not really over this head cold yet so bare with me. Sunday thought I would come home with about two books I only wanted, boy was I wrong. Had a nice mini book haul again and everyone love my dress. Mostly hang around the books section b/c everything was packed with people, more then Thursday. Very long day and was starting to get sick. Took not to many pictures this time. So here is Sunday pictures and fun.

 

 

This would be easy doing on video but hate the sound of my voice. After i got home was fever sick and still am. Took me a while to pick up a book again and start reading. Being drugs and half sleeping this week did not help me with reading much. Here is what me and Bella are reading next. We are reading Ship of the Dead the last Magnus Chase book of Rick Riordan. Never review any of his books on here before and have no idea how to start that since he has over 12 books and about 3 or 4 different series to keep track of. So here is Bella with the book. My Review:

So I enjoy the movies your name so much even reviewed the movie here, {Movie Review} Your Name. Recently the mange to it just came out and the light novel for it. Which I have gotten the light novel. So I do count manga as books you read them and they have awesome story line. Love this book so much, it’s about an girl and boy who keep switching bodies throughout the book. Kinda like freaky Friday feel going on with a huge twist at the end. Can’t really say a whole lot about the book without spoiling. Hope it comes to bluray/dvd soon so you guys enjoy the anime. In meantime you can pick up the light novel and manga to tide you over. With the manga it’s not the whole story as there an book two coming out in fall.  So if you an big anime nerd like me you might fall in love with this book and the movie. So Happy Reading!

Movie Summary:

On the night of a beautiful meteor shower, two strangers — a male high-school student in Tokyo, and a bored teenage girl living in rural Japan — discover that they can switch bodies in their sleep when they share the same dream. Now, they must find each other before time runs out, all while learning lessons about what it’s like to live as another person.

Review:

I just saw this movie today and have fallen in love. I am happy to report there  gonna be a light novel of it in May. This movie has everything music, funny and a twist you don’t see coming until the end. This is a very short review I know but can’t spoil to much of this movie and soon to be novel that coming out in May. For the anime fans and lovers will enjoy this brand new anime story. So Happy watching and soon Happy Reading when the novel and the manga comes out!
