{Arc Review} The Haunted by Danielle Vega

Book Summary:
From Danielle Vega, YA’s answer to Stephen King, comes a new paranormal novel about dark family secrets, deep-seated vengeance, and the horrifying truth that evil often lurks in the unlikeliest of places.
Hendricks Becker-O’Malley is new in town, and she’s bringing baggage with her. With a dark and wild past, Hendricks doesn’t think the small town her parents moved her to has much to offer her in terms of excitement. She plans on laying low, but when she’s suddenly welcomed into the popular crowd at school, things don’t go as expected.
Hendricks learns from her new friends that the fixer-upper her parents are so excited about is notorious in town. Local legend says it’s haunted. Hendricks doesn’t believe it. Until she’s forced to. Blood-curdling screams erupt from the basement, her little brother wakes up covered in scratches, and something, or someone pushes her dad down the stairs. With help from the mysterious boy next door, Hendricks makes it her mission to take down the ghosts . . . if they don’t take her first.

My Review:

What goes bump in the night at Steele House?

Hendricks about to the learn that something scary lives in her new home. When she starts a new life, she did not mean being a part of a ghost story. Being the new girl is hard as it is, also dealing with stress from the past. With so much going on, is she really loosing her mind, or something evil is in her new home?

This book was a fast pace read. It leaves you on the edge of the seat. You will questioning what real or not. Only you must read and find the answers yourself. Be warn you might be spending time with lights on after reading this book. This book was recently release, so enjoy.

Happy Reading!

Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L Armentrout

Book Summary:
Every touch has its price
Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.
But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay…

My Review:

Stone Cold Touch is the second book of The Dark Elements series. This first book is call, White Hot Kiss. Which I have recently review. If you have yet read the first book or neither of these books, you may skip reading review.

The book picks up where book one left off. Roth is trap in hell and Layla life must go on. She grows closer now to Zanye and her powers may be changing also. Her classmates are acting out and strange accidents happening around her. When Roth comes back into her life, she wonders what’s wrong with her. Could a strange new being at fault or could Layla slowly becoming a demon?

This book is more action pack like the first one. It very hard to choose with boy to fall for, Zanye or Roth. I’m mostly team Bambi the snake, which I have fallen in love with. The book has some new creatures in it. If you have yet read this series, then you need to check it out.

Happy Reading!!!

When Rob and Maegan are paired together for a calculus project, they’re both reluctant to let anyone through the walls they’ve built. But when Maegan learns of Rob’s plan to fix the damage caused by his father, it could ruin more than their fragile new friendship…
This captivating, heartfelt novel asks the question: Is it okay to do something wrong for the right reasons?

My Review:

Call Me What You Want is such a good read. I love the story it told and connected well with the characters in the book. I was lucky to read the book early and looking forward to buying it, when it comes June 25th.

Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner

Book Summary:
Every Friday night, best friends Delia and Josie become Rayne Ravenscroft and Delilah Darkwood, hosts of the campy creature feature show Midnite Matinee on the local cable station TV Six.
But with the end of senior year quickly approaching, the girls face tough decisions about their futures. Josie has been dreading graduation, as she tries to decide whether to leave for a big university and chase her dream career in mainstream TV. And Lawson, one of the show’s guest performers, a talented MMA fighter with weaknesses for pancakes, fantasy novels, and Josie, is making her tough decision even harder.
Scary movies are the last connection Delia has to her dad, who abandoned the family years ago. If Midnite Matinee becomes a hit, maybe he’ll see it and want to be a part of her life again. And maybe Josie will stay with the show instead of leaving her behind, too.
As the tug-of-war between growing up and growing apart tests the bonds of their friendship, Josie and Delia start to realize that an uncertain future can be both monstrous…and momentous.

My Review:

Rayne & Delia Midnite Matinee is such a good read. A book about testing the bonds of a friendship. It was fun to read at times.

Delia is a huge horror fan and started her online show with best friend Rayne. Delia try to uses the show to connect with her father, who walked out on her. Rayne is there to support her along the way. Until after high school, Rayne has other plans that don’t involve being on show forever. Things may be changing for their friendship, but in the end will they still stay friends?

I thought the book started out pretty good. I enjoy how they girls put together their horror show. It was fun reading how close the girls are and people thinking they sisters. Toward the end I thought the story dragged out a bit then it needed it to be. If your in mood for some friendship reads, then you might enjoy this book.

Happy Birthday!!!!

{Arc Review} How to Make Friends with Dark by Kathleen Glasgow

Book Summary:
Here is what happens when your mother dies.
It’s the brightest day of summer and it’s dark outside. It’s dark in your house, dark in your room, and dark in your heart. You feel like the darkness is going to split you apart.
That’s how it feels for Tiger. It’s always been Tiger and her mother against the world. Then, on a day like any other, Tiger’s mother dies. And now it’s Tiger, alone.
Here is how you learn to make friends with the dark.

My Review:

How to Make Friends with the Dark was such an insightful read with one girl’s grief. The story is very well written and get to feel for the characters.

Tiger lives comfortable life with her mom, who gets on her nerves at times. One day Tiger’s mom suddenly passed away, then she has to learn to defend for herself. Now she bouncing around foster homes, while trying to grieve. It’s a lot for a young girl to deal with alone, will she be able to find peace in the end?

This book was such a good read. The struggles the main character face, leaves you heartbroken. If your in mood for some good fiction, then your in for a treat. This book already came out.

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L Armentrout

Book Summary:
One kiss could be the last.
Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she’s anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.
Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she’s crushed on since forever.
Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she’s not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn’t an issue, considering Roth has no soul.
But when Layla discovers she’s the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne… it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

My Review:

White Hot Kiss was such a great read. I’m slowly reading most of Jennifer L Armentrout’s books. This has so many cool creatures to be scare of or to love. You can fall in love with most of the characters in the book and the story it told.

Layla is pretty cool in the book. She is half warden and half demon. She struggles fighting her demon side on regular basics. Also she helps the wardens out to tag demons. Not sure where she belongs at times, she bumps into a high power demon. Roth might hold the key to her pass.

Roth is this hot looking demon. He saves Layla life a few times. Even let Layla understand who she really is. Roth makes Layla conflicted with the wardens and her true purpose in life. What secrets does Roth hold for Layla?

This book is a quick read for me. I enjoyed the world building where monsters roam free and try to fit in. Where some might want to end the world. The wardens try to keep the peace between humans and demons. So many characters to enjoy. If you in mood for some action pack fun, then you should give this book a chance.

Happy Reading!!!

A magic carpet ride full of adventure, suspense, and wonder written by New York Times Bestselling author Aisha Saeed, this story will be a must-read for any Aladdin fans who find themselves drawn into and enchanted by the magical world of Agrabah and beyond.
.

My Review:

I so do love Aladdin so much. Remember I used to song along to the movie when I was younger. I am so excited when they release this new middle grade book of it. Also it’s a new Aladdin adventure before the movie comes out May 24th.

This book takes place when Aladdin is pretending to Prince Ali. In order to impress Princess Jasmine he takes her on a magic carpet ride. A ride that leads to Prince Ali’s home. What magical trouble did Aladdin got himself into?

I thought it was good read. Prefect for ths younger kids and adults a like. This gets my pump up to see the movie this month. If you want to go on a magical carpet ride, then this book is for you.

Here a peck at the live action movie:
