{Arc Review} The Similars by Rebecca Hanover

Book Summary:
When six clones join Emmaline’s prestigious boarding school, she must confront the heartbreak of seeing her dead best friend’s face each day in class.
The Similars are all anyone can talk about at the elite Darkwood Academy. Who are these six clones? What are the odds that all of them would be Darkwood students? Who is the madman who broke the law to create them? Emma couldn’t care less. Her best friend, Oliver, died over the summer and all she can think about is how to get through her junior year without him. Then she comes face-to-heartbreaking-face with Levi—Oliver’s exact DNA replica and one of the Similars.
Emma wants nothing to do with the Similars, but she keeps getting pulled deeper and deeper into their clique, uncovering dark truths about the clones and her prestigious school along the way. But no one can be trusted…not even the boy she is falling for who has Oliver’s face.

My Review:

The Similars was such an original and unique read. Something totally different that I had not read in a long time. I loved the story it told and enjoy the characters in the book.

I did like Emma in the book. She was dealing with a lot when school started. Her best friend had dead, and then suddenly she finds out he was clone. It was hard enough going to school with clones, but having one that looks like your dead friend is a little to much. How will Emma deal?

There is Levi in the book. At first I don’t really trust him. He never knew why he was clone of a dead person. What secrets and purposes of the clones at school in the first place? Levi has the answers but is he willing to share with Emma?

The book was a another quick read for me. I liked the idea of clones mixed in with humans at school. You can also see not all the kids are not happy the clones there at all. It so full with twists and ending that leaving you wanting more. Lucky this book came out today.

Happy Reading!!!!

Lovely, Dark And Deep by Justina Chen

Book Summary:
What would you do if the sun became your enemy?
That’s exactly what happens to Viola Li after she returns from a trip abroad and develops a sudden and extreme case of photosensitivity — an inexplicable allergy to sunlight. Thanks to her crisis-manager parents, she doesn’t just have to wear layers of clothes and a hat the size of a spaceship. She has to stay away from all hint of light. Say goodbye to windows and running outdoors. Even her phone becomes a threat when its screen burns her.
Viola is determined to maintain a normal life, particularly after she meets Josh. He’s a funny, talented Thor look-alike who carries his own mysterious grief. But the intensity of their romance makes her take more and more risks, and when a rebellion against her parents backfires dangerously, she must find her way to a life — and love — as deep and lovely as her dreams.

My Review:

What happens when the sun is your own worst enemy?

That’s what had happen to Viola, when she was vacationing with her aunt one year. Somehow the sun start poisoning her body. With so many plans and dreams she had hope to accomplish when school ended. Now she got to come up with a new plan that involves working in the dark.

I did enjoy the book. I liked how Viola is a fighting for her life. No many what the doctors told she worked hard and stayed in school. You get to see the struggle she has with her disease and leading a normal life in the daytime.

Will Viola let this disease defeat her in the end or will she go down fighting?

This was a short read. If your looking for something different, than you might liked this book. Sorry review is so short, the summary gives most of it away and it was an quick read.

Happy Reading!!!

Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott with Mikki Daugherty and Tobias Laconis

Book Summary:
Can you love someone you can never touch?
Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.
The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.
Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.
What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

My Review:

Five Feet Apart is a breathtaking read about an deadly illness. It was also an educational read. You get to hear the journey of the main characters have to make and grow over time in book.

Stella Grant, I really liked her in the book. She tries her best getting her disease in control and stay a live for her family sake. When a chance encounter with Will Newman, will she be able to keep things under control? Love how she has a YouTube blog to keep other people positive about their disease.

Will Newman, I enjoy him in the book. He already accepted that he was going to die and just want to live his life. When Stella comes along, can she help him live longer?

This book was a quick read. Love the point of view told by the main characters. I’m looking forward to the movie of to come out next year. It’s about living life to the fullest even if it’s on borrow time.

Here the trailer for movie:

{ Waiting on Wednesday} The Deceivers by Kristen Simmons

Book Summary:

Welcome to Vale Hall, the school for aspiring con artists.

When Brynn Hilder is recruited to Vale, it seems like the elite academy is her chance to start over, away from her mom’s loser boyfriend and her rundown neighborhood. But she soon learns that Vale chooses students not so much for their scholastic talent as for their extracurricular activities, such as her time spent conning rich North Shore kids out of their extravagant allowances.

At first, Brynn jumps at the chance to help the school in its mission to rid the city of corrupt officials―because what could be better than giving entitled jerks what they deserve? But that’s before she meets her mark―a senator’s son―and before she discovers the school’s headmaster has secrets he’ll stop at nothing to protect. As the lines between right and wrong blur, Brynn begins to realize she’s in way over head.

Coming out: Feburary 5th, 2019

{Arc Review} The Wicked King by Holly Black

Book Summary:
You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring.
The first lesson is to make yourself strong.
After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished.
When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

My Review:

This book was so awesome. A little slow start but picks up pretty good in the middle. There are so many emotions within the book. You guys have until January 9th for it to come out. Will leave you some gifs on how I feel about the book.

So kinda beginning of book just was like waiting for something big to happen..

This is me in the middle and towards the end….

Then the ending has me like this..

This book is action packed, very little romance, and lots of shocking twists you don’t see coming. So be prepared when jumping into this series again. Also can I say how pretty this cover is. I’m excited to go to signing event. Now need to count down to book 3.

Happy Reading!!!
