Bird Box by Josh Malerman

Book Summary:
Something is out there, something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse of it, and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.
Five years after it began, a handful of scattered survivors remains, including Malorie and her two young children. Living in an abandoned house near the river, she has dreamed of fleeing to a place where they might be safe. Now that the boy and girl are four, it’s time to go, but the journey ahead will be terrifying: twenty miles downriver in a rowboat–blindfolded–with nothing to rely on but her wits and the children’s trained ears. One wrong choice and they will die. Something is following them all the while, but is it man, animal, or monster?
Interweaving past and present, Bird Box is a snapshot of a world unraveled that will have you racing to the final page.

My Review:

I thought Bird Box was an alright read. It was very different than the movie. They did change a lot of things in it. The book was a super quick read. You felt bad for some of the characters in it. Still have no idea what the creatures are.

I like Malorie in the book. She is a fighter until the very end. The kids in the book where well behaved. They listen to everything Malorie has to say in order to live. Will they be able to fine a safe place in the end?

This was a slow pace read for me. For those you had seen the movie, might want to read the book also. Yes it’s an adult read. It alternates between the pass and future. You get to see what happen to the survivors that where with Malorie at the time also.

*Be careful of doing the Birdbox Challenge*

Happy Reading!!!!
