{Blog Tour & Giveaway} Tiger Queen by Annie Sullivan

ABOUT THE BOOK
Tiger Queen
by Annie Sullivan
Publisher: BLINK
Release date: September 10, 2019
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Retelling, Romance
Synopsis:
From Annie Sullivan, author of A Touch of Gold, comes Tiger Queen, a sweeping YA fantasy
adventure that tells the story of a fierce desert princess battling to save her kingdom. Fans
of Rebel of the Sands and Meagan Spooner will devour this retelling of Frank Stockton’s fa-
mous short story, “The Lady, or the Tiger?”
In the mythical desert kingdom of Achra, an ancient law forces sixteen-year-old Princess Kateri to
fight in the arena to prove her right to rule. For Kateri, winning also means fulfilling a promise to her
late mother that she would protect her people, who are struggling through windstorms and drought.
The situation is worsened by the gang of Desert Boys that frequently raids the city wells, forcing the
king to ration what little water is left. The punishment for stealing water is a choice between two
doors: behind one lies freedom, and behind the other is a tiger.
But when Kateri’s final opponent is announced, she knows she cannot win. In desperation, she
turns to the desert and the one person she never thought she’d side with. What Kateri discovers
twists her world—and her heart—upside down. Her future is now behind two doors—only she’s not
sure which holds the key to keeping her kingdom and which releases the tiger.

My Review:

Tiger Queen was such a good stand alone read. I enjoy the storyline of how a princess is more of a warrior than being helpless. I do like the most of the characters with in the book.

Kateri all of her life has been train to fight. In order to become queen she must defeat her opponents each time. She is a girl who refuse to settle down. With each fight she is closer to the crown. Her last opponent turns out to be someone who can beat her.

Kateri knows what is a stake if she lose. So she runs off, hoping to find someone good to train her. When she leaves home, she finds out hidden secrets that where kept from her. Will she able to win her crown and save her people?

This book was action packed and a quick pace read. It has tigers, lots of sand and fighting going on. There be some twists and turns throughout the book. A very good stand alone book. I was happy to be a part of this tour. Looking forward to more books by this author.

Happy Reading!!!

Aiden Emerson is an all-star pitcher and the all-around golden boy of Riverton. Or at least he was, before he quit the team the last day of junior year without any explanation. How could he tell people he’s losing his vision at seventeen?

Straight-laced Olivia thought she had life all figured out. But when her dream internship falls apart, her estranged mother comes back into her life, and her long-time boyfriend ghosts her right before summer break, she’s starting to think fate has a weird sense of humor.

Each struggling to find a new direction, Aiden and Olivia decide to live summer by chance. Every fleeting adventure and stolen kiss is as fragile as a coin flip in this heartfelt journey to love and self-discovery from the author of Love Songs & Other Lies.

My Review:

When Summer Ends, you get to spend some time by the lake and hope to change your luck.

Olivia has the summer planned out. She gets to spend more time with friends and her boyfriend. And she even has the perfect job lined up. When her grandma gets a new job out of state, it throws Olivia’s plans through a loop. There goes her perfect summer and her boyfriend. Now she’s going to make the best of her summer with the luck of a coin and taking new chances for the summer.

Aiden is a star baseball player, he’s dealing with some personal issues. Suddenly he must quit the team and start working with his uncle. His uncle just so happens to hire Olivia for the summer. At first, these two get off on the foot, but with a flip of a coin, their summer change drastically.

With Olivia moving away, what will happen between Aiden and Olivia?

This book was a quick read for me. I enjoyed the storyline of the book. It was fun watching how the main characters interact with each other. It was funny at times at how they fight with one another. They have such chemistry in the book. It a good book to read during the summer. I was happy to be a part of this blog tour.

Heads or Tails? How will the summer turn out?

Happy Reading!!!!

{Blog Tour} Starworld by Aubrey Coulthurst and Paula Garner

TOUR SCHEDULE:
http://www.jeanbooknerd.com/2019/03/starworld-by-audrey-coulthurst-paula.html

Hardcover: 352 pages
Publisher: Candlewick (April 16, 2019)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0763697567
ISBN-13: 978-0763697563

Praise for STARWORLD
An unlikely friendship blossoms between two high school seniors…in the deft hands of co-authors Coulthurst (Inkmistress, 2018, etc.) and Garner (Relative Strangers, 2018, etc.), the well-realized main characters and deeply insightful descriptions of complex emotions combine into an unusually thoughtful novel…Readers seeking characters facing challenges with honesty, bravery, and kindness will appreciate this book with its reminder that our outward lives often don’t reflect who we really are. ―Kirkus Reviews

Sam Jones and Zoe Miller have one thing in common: they both want an escape from reality. Loner Sam flies under the radar at school and walks on eggshells at home to manage her mom’s obsessive-compulsive disorder, wondering how she can ever leave to pursue her dream of studying aerospace engineering. Popular, people-pleasing Zoe puts up walls so no one can see her true self: the girl who was abandoned as an infant, whose adoptive mother has cancer, and whose disabled brother is being sent away to live in a facility. When an unexpected encounter results in the girls’ exchanging phone numbers, they forge a connection through text messages that expands into a private universe they call Starworld. In Starworld, they find hilarious adventures, kindness and understanding, and the magic of being seen for who they really are. But when Sam’s feelings for Zoe turn into something more, will the universe they’ve built survive the inevitable explosion?

In a novel in two voices, a popular teen and an artistic loner forge an unlikely bond — and create an entire universe — via texts. But how long before the real world invades Starworld?

My Review:

Starworld was such a good read. I enjoy the story it told and the characters in it.

Starworld is an escape for Sam and Zoey. A world they created to get away from their crazy lives. The world they built brought them together, but what happens when reality gets in the way? Are Zoey and Sam friendship strong enough to face their fears together?

This book was a quick read for me. Both girls dealing with lots of family issues and been dealing on them alone. It was nice seeing how the friendship grow and reading the world they built together. Looking for a good friendship read, then your in for a treat.

Happy Reading!!!!

{Blog Tour} You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn

ABOUT YOU’D BE MINE:

Annie Mathers is America’s sweetheart and heir to a country music legacy full of all the things her Gran warned her about. Superstar Clay Coolidge is most definitely going to end up one of those things.

But unfortunately for Clay, if he can’t convince Annie to join his summer tour, his music label is going to drop him. That’s what happens when your bad boy image turns into bad boy reality. Annie has been avoiding the spotlight after her parents’ tragic death, except on her skyrocketing YouTube channel. Clay’s label wants to land Annie, and Clay has to make it happen.
Swayed by Clay’s undeniable charm and good looks, Annie and her band agree to join the tour. From the start fans want them to be more than just tour mates, and Annie and Clay can’t help but wonder if the fans are right. But if there’s one part of fame Annie wants nothing to do with, it’s a high-profile relationship. She had a front row seat to her parents’ volatile marriage and isn’t interested in repeating history. If only she could convince her heart that Clay, with his painful past and head over heels inducing tenor, isn’t worth the risk.
Erin Hahn’s thrilling debut, You’d Be Mine, asks: can the right song and the perfect summer on the road make two broken hearts whole?

My review:

You’d be Mine was such a good read. I finish it in one night. The storytelling was good and can connected well with the characters.

Annie deals with a haunting pass of her famous parents. She writes and sings music locally, afraid of repeating her parents downfall. When country star, Clay comes along with a offer. Will she be able to leave her past behind?

Clay is the bad news, he is such a hot mess. In order to change his life around, he is forced to recruit Annie. With these two always butting head, will Clay leave tour a change man?

I like the chemistry between Annie and Clay in the book. They always fighting with each witch was fun to read. This book has some country vibe feeling to it. I was happy to a part of the blog tour. This book for someone who like little romance and enjoy some music.

Happy Reading!!!!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

By night, she writes swoons. She married her own YA love interest who she met on her first day of college and has two kids who are much, much cooler than she ever was at their age. {Blog Tour} Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

“Prepare for a snow-frosted, blood-drenched fairy tale where the monsters steal your heart and love
ends up being the nightmare.” – Roshani Chokshi, New York Times bestselling author of The Star-
Touched Queen
A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself.
A prince in danger must decide who to trust.
A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings.
Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war.
In a centuries-long war where beauty and brutality meet, their three paths entwine in a shadowy world
of spilled blood and mysterious saints, where a forbidden romance threatens to tip the scales between
dark and light. Wicked Saints is the thrilling start to Emily A. Duncan’s devastatingly Gothic Something
Dark and Holy trilogy.
“This book destroyed me and I adored it.”- Stephanie Garber, New York Times bestselling author
of Caraval

My Review:

Wicked Saints was something new for me. I was intrigued with the storyline and connected with the some of the characters in the book.

Nadya in the begining was in hiding. She has powers to talk with gods, with powerful people on the hunt for her. When the place she was hiding out in, is attack, she is force to join the rebels. With both common goals to take down the king, will Nadya be brave enough to use her gifts?

Serefin is a prince, on the hunt for Nadya. He is a ruthless prince and would do anything to get his hands on her. Not liking the way his father rules, he might have to form unlikely allies. With a lot at stake, is Setrfin suited to rule?

This book is filled with with adventures and lots of twists. It told in points of view between Serefin and Nadya. If your mood for something dark and twisted, you might enjoy this read. Thanks to St Martain Press for letting me be a part of the blog tour.

{Blog Tour/Giveaway} Break the Bodies, Haunt the Bones by Micah Dean Hicks

Language: English
ISBN-10: 1328566455
ISBN-13: 978-1328566454

Praise for BREAK THE BODIES, HAUNT THE BONES
“A tour-de-force of the imagination. Hicks has created a world that is beautifully and brutally surreal and yet, at the same time, BREAK THE BODIES, HAUNT THE BONES stands as a hyper-realistic psychological portrait of the death of the American factory town. My own identity as an American was disturbed and changed by this novel; some dormant understanding was shaken awake. This is a stunning and profound debut.” ―Julianna Baggott, bestselling author of New York Times Notable Book Pure
“Hicks’ debut novel is a thoughtful tour of the rotted and haunted heart of America. Highly recommended.” ―Jeremiah Tolbert, Shirley Jackson Award-nominated author
“I can’t stop thinking about this book. It’s a haunting story that burrows under your skin like an insect laying eggs that hatch within you in the middle of the night. Hicks’ mesmerizing imagery kept me turning the pages and asking myself ‘How is this book happening? What sort of literary witchcraft am I witnessing?’” ―Maurice Broaddus, author of Buffalo Soldier and The Usual Suspects
“BREAK THE BODIES, HAUNT THE BONES is a breathless wonder of a debut novel… Hicks is a magician with words and has written a spellbinding, haunting and necessary book.” ―Anne Valente, author of Our Hearts Will Burn Us Down
“Hicks has crafted a haunting story with multi-generational appeal, where the very real horror of poverty meets supernatural horror, and social issues like xenophobia, racism and economic anxiety are addressed organically through allegory and gripping storytelling.” ―Chris L. Terry, author of Black Card and Zero Fade

Swine Hill was full of the dead. Their ghosts were thickest near the abandoned downtown, where so many of the town’s hopes had died generation by generation. They lingered in the places that mattered to them, and people avoided those streets, locked those doors, stopped going into those rooms . . . They could hurt you. Worse, they could change you.

Jane is haunted. Since she was a child, she has carried a ghost girl that feeds on the secrets and fears of everyone around her, whispering to Jane what they are thinking and feeling, even when she doesn’t want to know. Henry, Jane’s brother, is ridden by a genius ghost that forces him to build strange and dangerous machines. Their mother is possessed by a lonely spirit that burns anyone she touches. In Swine Hill, a place of defeat and depletion, there are more dead than living.

When new arrivals begin scoring precious jobs at the last factory in town, both the living and the dead are furious. This insult on the end of a long economic decline sparks a conflagration. Buffeted by rage on all sides, Jane must find a way to save her haunted family and escape the town before it kills them.

My Review:

Break the Bodies, Haunt the bones was such an unique read. Very different than I’m use to reading. I did enjoyed the book and the story it told. Even the characters I could connect with. I was happy to a part of this blog tour.

Jane in the book, hardly has any friends. She haunted by a lonely ghost since she was a child. Her ghost never hurt her, just can read what other people thinking and feeling. She really wants to be free of Swine Hill. Which means she needs money and save her family, from the ghosts haunting them. Will Jane be able to break free of Swine Hill?

Thought it was a very good detailed read on how the people of Swine Hill lives. This book is good for those who are looking for something out of this world.

Happy Reading!

Joel Higgins has 901 unsent text messages saved on his phone.
Ever since the thing that happened, there are certain people he hasn’t been able to talk to in person. Sure, he shows up at school, does his mandatory volunteer hours at the soup kitchen, and spends pretty much every moment thinking about Eli, the most amazing girl in the world. But that doesn’t mean he’s keeping it together, or even that he has any friends.
So instead of hanging out with people in real life, he drafts text messages. But he never presses send.
As dismal as sophomore year was for Joel, he doesn’t see how junior year will be any better. For starters, Eli doesn’t know how he feels about her, his best friend Andy’s gone, and he basically bombed the SATs. But as Joel spends more time at the soup kitchen with Eli and Benj, the new kid whose mouth seems to be unconnected to his brain, he forms bonds with the people they serve there-including a veteran they call Rooster-and begins to understand that the world is bigger than his own pain.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book. Was really happy to belong to blog tour for it. This story was good and enjoy the characters on it.

I did like Joel in the book. He has struggles making friends and with school life. His only enjoyment is working in the soup kitchen with a girl he has crash on. It was nice seeing him grow throughout the book. He comes off shy and keeps to himself at most time.

Will Joel ever come out of his shell?

This book was a quick read. A very nice coming age story for Joel. If you looking for a new read or find out is Joel will be alright. Then this book might be for you.

Happy Reading!!!
