{Arc Review} Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab

Book Summary:
Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.
She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their TV show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.
When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.
And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.

My Review:

Tunnel of Bones was so good. You get to enjoy more hauntings set in Paris. The book is good for the fall read. If you have yet read City of Ghosts, you don’t have to read this review.

Cass and Jacob are back again. Now they get to join Cass’s folks in Paris. There some awesome haunted new sites to explore and stories to tell. When Cass goes in the catacombs, something evil follows her back. Still learning her new gifts and help with old friends. She now must find a way to get rid of this pest for good.

I enjoy the friendship between Cass and Jacob. The second book has more life threatening issues at hand. Lots of haunts and fun along the way. This book has everything for a good Halloween read. It comes out September 3rd.

Happy Reading!!!

Storm and Fury by Jennifer L Armentrout

Book Summary:
Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she’s been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens—gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.
When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…

My Review:

Storm and Fury was such a awesome spin off to The Dark Elements series. You don’t have to read the dark elements to enjoy this book. If your interested in reading The dark elements series, the series starts with White Hot Kis, Cold Stone Touch and Every Last Breathe. I reviewed books 1 & 2 of the books on here.

Storm and Fury set in the dark elements world with some new characters and fun cameos from the book. Which I did love so much. Even I connected with the new characters in the books.

Trinity acts all human, but deep down she is something different. Only a few people in the warden home knows her secret. She may be going blind, but she can kick any demon or warden butt. Once Zayne visit the clan, her life gets turn upside. Something is killing demon s and wadens a like. Will Trinity be any use and can help Zayne out?

This book is a face pace read. I had trouble putting it until it was finish. I love the world building to it. It was fun watching Trinity and Zayne interact with each other also. This book has everything from magical creatures just about. Looking for something new to read, then this book might be for you.

The Deceivers by Kristen Simmons

Book Summary:
Pretty Little Liars meets Ocean’s 11 in this intrigue-filled contemporary drama from acclaimed author Kristen Simmons.
Welcome to Vale Hall, the school for aspiring con artists.
When Brynn Hilder is recruited to Vale, it seems like the elite academy is her chance to start over, away from her mom’s loser boyfriend and her rundown neighborhood. But she soon learns that Vale chooses students not so much for their scholastic talent as for their extracurricular activities, such as her time spent conning rich North Shore kids out of their extravagant allowances.
At first, Brynn jumps at the chance to help the school in its mission to rid the city of corrupt officials–because what could be better than giving entitled jerks what they deserve? But that’s before she meets her mark–a senator’s son–and before she discovers the school’s headmaster has secrets he’ll stop at nothing to protect. As the lines between right and wrong blur, Brynn begins to realize she’s in way over head.

My Review:

The Deceivers was such a addictive read. Another great book for the year. The storyline was fun and the characters I did enjoy.

Brynn works hard to try to survive. Even if it means conning people and trying to get out of town. Vale Hall notice her talents and offer her a chance of freedom from her old life. When the past comes back to haunt her, will she be truly free?

This book was very hard to put down. I was intrigued with the story and how each character interacts with each other. There are some secrets and twists within this book. If your in mood for a good boarding school story, then you won’t be disappointed.

You ready to go to Vale Hall?

What The Woods Keep by Katya De Becerra

Book Summary:
What the Woods Keep is the stunning debut of Katya de Becerra, who combines mystery, science fiction, and dark fantasy in a twisty story that will keep you mesmerized right up to the final page.
On her eighteenth birthday, Hayden inherits her childhood home—on the condition that she uncover its dark secrets.
Hayden tried to put the past behind her, and it worked. She’s getting ready for college, living in a Brooklyn apartment, and hanging out with her best friend and roommate Del. But now it’s all catching up with her: her mother’s mysterious disappearance a decade before, her father’s outlandish theories about a lost supernatural race, and Hayden’s own dark dreams of strange symbols and rituals in the Colorado woods where she grew up.
As soon as Hayden arrives at her hometown, her friend Del in tow, it begins: Neighbors whisper secrets about Hayden’s mother; the boy next door is now all grown-up in a very distracting way; and Hayden feels the trees calling to her. And among them, deep in the woods, Hayden will discover something incredible—something that threatens reality.

My Review:

I did enjoyed this book. It starts out pretty strong the story. Then towards the end, it was out of this world. The storyline I liked and the characters in it.

Hayden, trying to put the past behind her. I like how brave she is for returning home. After everything that happen with her mom, can she find the answers to her past?

Del, I liked her also in the book. She and Hayden have a cool bond as friends. Del will have her back no matter what happens. Will she still be there for her once Hayden discover the secrets to her past?

The book pace was quick and there tons of secrets going on in Hayden’s hometown. There some twist and turn. For people you like mysteries, dark secrets and a good fall read. You guys might enjoy this read. If you unsure about this book, then try it at the library.

You ready to enter the woods???

{Arc Review & Giveaway} The Storm Runner by J.C Cervantes

Book Summary:
Zane has always enjoyed exploring the dormant volcano near his home in New Mexico, even though hiking it is challenging. He’d much rather hang out there with his dog, Rosie, than go to middle school, where kids call him Sir Limps a Lot, McGimpster, or Uno—for his one good leg. What Zane doesn’t know is that the volcano is a gateway to another world and he is at the center of a powerful prophecy. A new girl at school, Brooks, informs him that he’s destined to release an evil god from the ancient Maya relic he is imprisoned in—unless she can find and remove it first. Together they return to the volcano, where all kinds of crazy happens. Brooks turns into a hawk, a demon attacks them in a cave, and Rosie gives her all while trying to protect Zane. When Zane decides to save his dog no matter the cost, he is thrust into an adventure full of surprising discoveries, dangerous secrets, and an all-out war between the gods, one of whom happens to be his father. To survive, Zane will have to become the Storm Runner. But how can he run when he can’t even walk well without a cane?
Feisty heroes, tricky gods, murderous demons, and spirited giants are just some of the pleasures that await in this fresh and funny take on Maya mythology, as rich and delicious as a mug of authentic hot chocolate.

My Review:

This book was so much fun. Really did enjoyed every minute of it. Also did learned about some Mayan mythology. This middle grade book is for all ages.

I adore Zane in the book. He was like the underdog throughout the story. He got this limp and no powers. Yet everyone thinks he can break this god out prison. There are secrets to who he is. So what Zane is story and what does it have to do with gods?

I think the book is a quick read. Sadly took me a while to finish it bc I had work. If you enjoy action adventure books, while learning new mythology, this book could for you. Comes out the 18th.

Lucky for my readers I have an extra arc to giveaway on my blog. US Only.
