Heroine by Mindy Mcginnis

Book Summary:
When a car crash sidelines Mickey just before softball season, she has to find a way to hold on to her spot as the catcher for a team expected to make a historic tournament run. Behind the plate is the only place she’s ever felt comfortable, and the painkillers she’s been prescribed can help her get there.
The pills do more than take away pain; they make her feel good.
With a new circle of friends—fellow injured athletes, others with just time to kill—Mickey finds peaceful acceptance, and people with whom words come easily, even if it is just the pills loosening her tongue.
But as the pressure to be Mickey Catalan heightens, her need increases, and it becomes less about pain and more about want, something that could send her spiraling out of control.

My Review:

Heroine was such a addictive read. A very detailed book about drug abuse. The characters are very likeable in the book and you have a sense of concern for them.

Micky has her life planned out, but did not plan on wrecking her car. Now she must fight hard getting back on track. Feeling guilty about the accident with her friend in the car. She then turns to pills to make the pain go away. What happens when you become addicted?

The book was such a good read. Read it one night. You start to feel worry and concern for Micky. The struggles she with pills and trying to get life in order. You can really get sucked into this book. The book may be sensitive to others since it deals with drugs. Looking for a good detailed read, you might like Heroine.

Happy Reading!!!
