{Arc Review} Unpregnant by Jenni Hendrixs and Ted Caplan

Book Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Veronica Clarke never thought she would wish she’d failed a test until she finds herself holding a thick piece of plastic in her hands and staring at two solid pink lines. Even the most consistent use of condoms won’t prevent pregnancy when your boyfriend secretly pokes holes in them to keep you from going out-of-state for college.
Veronica needs an abortion, but the closest place she can legally get one is over nine hundred miles away—and Veronica doesn’t have a car. Too ashamed to ask her friends or family for help, Veronica turns to the one person she believes won’t judge her: Bailey Butler, Jefferson High’s own little black cloud of anger and snark—and Veronica’s ex-best friend. Once on the road, Veronica quickly remembers nothing with Bailey is ever simple and that means two days of stolen cars, shotguns, crazed ex-boyfriends, truck stop strippers with pro-life agendas, and a limo driver named Bob. But the pain and betrayal of their broken friendship can’t be outrun. When their fighting leads to a brutal moment of truth, Bailey abandons Veronica. Now Veronica must risk everything in order to repair the hurt she’s caused.

My Review:

Unpregnant was such a fun read. I did liked the storyline a lot and the characters in it. If you enjoy stories on teen pregnancies. It was a heartfelt book and turning to an unexpected friend for help.

Veronica in the book must keep up appearances with her family and friends. She gets straight A’s, wear a purity ring, plays by the rules and have the prefect boyfriend. Soon she is getting ready to go off to college, but one thing is standing in her way. She accidentally gets knocked up.

Her life seems to go up in smokes. There no way she telling her parents the truth, nor she trust her inner circle friends. When her ex friend Bailey the only know the truth, she turns to her for a road trip to terminate the mistake. Along the way the girls encounter a lot of misadventures and a crazy ex boyfriend stalking them.

Will this road trip bring the girls close together again?

This book was so much fun. There some funny jokes throughout the book. I like how Veronica also trying to understand what happen to her and Bailey friendship. She also learns she can’t be perfect all the time. I like to see how much Veronica grow and learn from this roadtrip. If your in mood for a feel good friendship book with laughs and fun along the way, then you might enjoy Unpregnant. This book recently just came out.

Happy Reading!!!!!

{Arc Review & Giveaway} Shatter City by Scott Westerfield

Book Summary:
When the world sees Frey, they think they see her twin sister Rafi. Frey was raised to be Rafi’s double, and now she’s taken on the role . . . without anyone else knowing.
Her goal? To destroy the forces that created her.
But with the world watching and a rebellion rising, Frey is forced into a detour. Suddenly she is stranded on her own in Paz, a city where many of the citizens attempt to regulate their emotions through an interface on their arms. Paz is an easy place to get lost . . . and also an easy place to lose yourself.
As the city comes under a catastrophic attack, Frey must leave the shadows and enter the chaos of warfare – because there is no other way for her to find her missing sister and have her revenge against her murderous father.

My Review:

I was excited for book two of The Imposters, Shatter City. I did love the world building. It takes place in the Uglies series. For those who have yet Imposters book one, can disregard this review. You see a lot of the main characters force to grow up in book two and change a lot since the first book.

The book leaves off with Frey now pretending to her sister, Rafi. Frey has a plan to save the boy she love and kill her father. Things never do go as plan. Col has set up an rescue mission of his own.

Frey once more becomes free and learns that her sister has gone missing. With a video clue to Rafi whereabouts, Frey heads to Paz. What secrets will Frey find in Paz? Where did her sister really run off to?

This book was a quick read for me. Mostly it was action pack fun. You get to see how much Frey struggling to have her own identity back. Then Rafi gets thrown into the wild, and have to become strong like Frey. These sisters change so much since book one. It was nice watching them grow up. A war is coming so they must all be prepared for it. Hopefully we get book three very soon.

The book comes September 17th.

One lucky reader gets to win my arc. Sorry it’s US Only again. Wish I had enough funds to send to international readers.

{Arc Review} Frankly in Love by David Yoon

Book Summary:
High school senior Frank Li is a Limbo–his term for Korean-American kids who find themselves caught between their parents’ traditional expectations and their own Southern California upbringing. His parents have one rule when it comes to romance–“Date Korean”–which proves complicated when Frank falls for Brit Means, who is smart, beautiful–and white. Fellow Limbo Joy Song is in a similar predicament, and so they make a pact: they’ll pretend to date each other in order to gain their freedom. Frank thinks it’s the perfect plan, but in the end, Frank and Joy’s fake-dating maneuver leaves him wondering if he ever really understood love–or himself–at all.

My Review:

Frankly in Love was such a good read. I enjoy the Korea culture in the book and the characters within it. The storyline was very interesting. Some parts of the book was fun, while there was some serious stuff going on in between.

Frankly life is complicated, since he part American and Korean. He works hard in school and do anything to please his parents. Then one day, Frankly falls with a girl, that his parents will never approve of.

Now Frankly must come up with a plan to keep seeing his girl and hiding from his parents. That’s where his Korean girl best friend comes in. They pretend to date. I mean what could possibly go wrong?

This book was kinda heartfelt read. It deals with some racist in it a bit. I feel bad for Frankly in the book, he deals with hiding from his family and the girl he love. This book has some family bonding moments in it and also some romance. Hopfully Frankly gets his life together in the end. This book is kinda like a Korea Drama which why I liked it so much. Looking for a good family book read, then you might like Frankly in Love.

Happy Reading and Release week of this book!!!

Past, Perfect, Life by Elizabeth Eulberg

Book Summary:
Small-town Wisconsin high school senior Allison Smith loves her life the way it is-spending quality time with her widowed father and her tight-knit circle of friends, including best friend Marian and maybe-more-than-friends Neil. Sure she is stressed out about college applications . . . who wouldn’t be? In a few short months, everything’s going to change, big time.
But when Ally files her applications, they send up a red flag . . . because she’s not Allison Smith. And Ally’s-make that Amanda’s-ordinary life is suddenly blown apart. Was everything before a lie? Who will she be after? And what will she do as now comes crashing down around her?

My Review:

Past, Prefect, Life was such a good read. I liked the heartfelt storyline and was very connected with some of the characters in the book. A prefect story about family and finding yourself.

Ally has this prefect life with her father. They do everything together and live in a nice town so everyone is like family to her. When she starts filling out college applications, her life gets turn upside.

Her father gets arrested for kidnapping. Ally find out she has this new life with a new family. She is so torn to leave the life her father have given her. She is force to leave everything behind and get to know her new family, but what she longs for her old life back. How will Ally handle these new challenges in her life?

This book is about finding one self and where they belong. Ally’s father made a mistake, but it doesn’t mean he is this bad guy. He raised Ally best he can, they had food and roof over their heads. This book is heartfelt read and trying to understand how this all happen. Hopefully for Ally sake she can find closure at the end. If you looking for a new read, you might like this book.

Happy Reading!!!

{Arc Review} Only Ashes Remains by Rebecca Schaeffer

Book Summary:

But with a video of her ability to self-heal all over the dark web, Nita knows she’s still a prime target on the black market.
There’s only one way to keep herself safe.
Nita must make herself so feared that no one would ever dare come after her again. And the best way to start building her reputation? Take her revenge on Fabricio, the boy who sold Nita to her kidnappers. But killing Fabricio is harder than Nita thought it would be, even with Kovit by her side. Now caught in a game of kill or be killed, Nita will do whatever it takes to win.

My Review:

Only Ashes Remains was so bloody good. It’s book two of Not Even Bones series. You may discard review if you have yet book one.

The books leaves off with Nita just blew up the black market and bumped into the guy who sold her out. She thinks she safe for now going back home to her mother. Until she finds out people are hunting her down, the person she thought she killed won’t stay dead.

Time to prove herself to her mother, Nita enlist the aid of Kovit. These two are the perfect monsters and killing a lots of people to get information they want. Leaving a bloody mess along the way, will these two ever find peace.

I enjoy Kovit and Nita interaction with each other. They are trying hard to to be good, but end up getting their morals wrong. No matter how hard they fight it, they just monsters at heart. Who is to judge them on what’s right or wrong?

This book is really a bloody mess again. I love entering Not Even Bones world. I was excited when the publisher gave me a arc copy to review. Hope more people get to enjoy this read. It prefect fall read and horror fans a like. This book just came out today.

So much blood on the main characters hands again.

My Review:

I read Roar like over two years ago. I have fallen in love with the first book. I recently reread it to get ready for Rage. If you have yet read Roar, you don’t need to read this review.

The storyline picks up where we left off in book one. Aurora finally returns to her ruin home. Now that it is run by the Locke family. Still she tries to keep her identity hidden from her fellow hunters. Now with new found powers, she must find the resistances and take back her throne. Also another threat looms, as a big stormling, is coming her way. How will Aurora keep her people safe?

This book is more action pack. Get more new characters backstories to enjoy. There also more death in this one. You get to enjoy some new point of views and discover some secrets a long the way. I’m looking forward to book three whenever that comes out. Rage comes out today. If you have yet read this series. It a good time to start.

Happy Reading!!!
