That Dark Infinity by Kate Pentecost

By night, the Ankou is a legendary, permanently young mercenary. By day, a witch’s curse leaves him no more than bones. Caught in an unending cycle of death and resurrection, the Ankou wants only to find the death that has been prophesied for him, especially once he begins to rot while he’s still alive….

After the kingdom of Kaer-Ise is sacked, Flora, loyal handmaiden to the princess, is assaulted and left for dead. As the sole survivor of the massacre, Flora wants desperately to find the princess she served. When the Ankou agrees to help her find the princess, and to train her in exchange for her help in breaking his curse, she accepts. But how can she kill an immortal? Especially one whom she is slowly growing to understand—and maybe even to love?

Together, they will solve mysteries, battle monsters, break curses, and race not only against time, but against fate itself.

My Review:

Ankou is man of mystery. He been cursed for nearly 300 years of unrest. During the night he fights monsters, while the day he turns into a skeleton. He lives in between the world of the living and dead for years. All he wants is forever death.

Flora world turns upside when she and her people gets attacked. Everyone dies, but her. She suffers the most and is lucky to be saved by Ankou. She trains to become a monster to work out her anger on what happen. Flora may hold the answers to Ankou getting his final death.

That Dark Infinity was such a awesome book. It was dark and deals with some sensitive issues. This fantasy story was unique and different. Not only was the story was bloody amazing, the cover is breathtaking. Even have characters you going to falk in love with. Prefect read for Halloween fans out there. No cliffhangers since it’s a standalone.

Looking for a good new standalone fantasy, then check out That Dark Infinity.

Happy Reading!
