Fear of Missing Out by Kate Mcgovern

Book Summary:
Everyone has a fear of missing out on something–a party, a basketball game, a hangout after school. But what if it’s life that you’ll be missing out on?
When Astrid learns that her cancer has returned, she hears about a radical technology called cryopreservation that may allow her to have her body frozen until a future time when–and if–a cure is available. With her boyfriend, Mohit, and her best friend, Chloe, Astrid goes on a road trip in search of that possibility. To see if it’s real. To see if it’s worth it. For fear of missing out on everything.

My Review:

Fear of Missing Out might hit close to home with some readers. The storyline deals with a girl who survived cancer and then she end up getting it back. There are characters you fall in love with.

In the beginning of the book, you met Astrid. She getting news her cancer has return. She been through chemotherapy before and it helps but there might be a chance with a new drug to help her. Before she make up mind on what to do she find a new option with her life, cryopreservation. She thinks on freezing her body until a cure is find. Now she goes a roadtrip to fight for her life with her best friend and boyfriend.

This book is such a heartbreaking read. You feel for every character in the book and rooting for Astrid along the way. During the roadtrip, I’m happy to see they can sight see along the way and try to reconnect to with father. This book is well written and I love every minute of it.

What decisions Astrid will make in the end?
